I just did a write up on this forum on another post.
I had the same (sounds the same) issue. My fuel pump was dying. When running the pressure was 54-55 psi. What it was doing was stopping and restarting while driving. I had a DTC of P0171 and P0174 (fuel trim lean). Eventually it quit at the...
Seems the fuel pump had an intermediate failure. As it might fail while driving the fuel pressure would drop yielding a low pressure delivery rate and producing the DTC P0171 and P0174 lean codes. Of course it was lean...it was about to die from fuel starvation! Then the pump would start running...
I've had my 04 Yukon Denali for over 4 years and picked it up at 112K miles. Now has 187K. I have replaced 3 forward a/c temp actuators (1 easy,2 inside dash), 1 rear actuator, steering column intermediate shaft (clunk when turning), wiper control relay, water pump at 157K, rear air shocks...
Do you have a part number for the Delphi pump you bought at AutoZone?
I just posted my issue (this forum) with the 04 Yukon 6.0 stall. It worked fine (or so it seemed) until no start at the hamburger place. When towed home it started in the garage. pressure looks good. I had DTC codes over the...
Part II...I got this home and as the tow truck was leaving I tried the start and Viola! it starts. I started it multiple times. After recovering from denial, I hooked up the fuel pressure gauge and with key on engine off, runs at 35 psi. When starting it levels off at 54 psi and constant. While...
Hey gang...my 2004 Yukon Denali 6.0 stalled on restart. Drove it to location and upon start to go home it stumbled for 5 seconds then stalled. No restart but cranks fine. Acts like it might fire if i wait 10+seconds with key on then crank. I can hear FP relay click if i momentarily hit start...
SLCHOE, ... this 50 minutes of classroom instruction/refresher is top notch. I'm pretty fair at home garage diagnostics but this refresher really brought about a clearer understanding. I have the P0171/P0174 code and will reexamine the STFT/LTFT and other data on the Innova scan tool. Nothing...
It could be the vapor canister vent valve (in the back) or the vent purge valve (on intake manifold). I had the codes and message that my gas cap was loose (tighten gas cap). I replaced the vent valve and erased the codes (via code reader) things seemed good then it came up again. A new proper...
I had a host of purge and vent issues on my 2004 Denali 6.0. I had the famous gas cap loose code. I found the purge vent valve you speak of (near or rear of the gas tank) was sticking open due to dusty conditions. I fully cleaned the valve (compressed air) and used 12volts to verify function...
The vehicle "thinks" its in reverse as indicated by the gear selection indicator. Per the previous post you need to manually finish "parking" the indicator so it will start. The cable or connectors between shift lever and transmission is where I am leading to.
My 2004 GMC Yukon Denali AWD 6.0 needs a radiator due to EOC line output leaking at radiator. This is the internal seal. Rather than attempt opening the tank end to repair I am going for replacement AC Delco unit. The issue is the are two numbers than the VIN code (U) represent, GM22840116 or...
Wish I had better news but this is what I have heard:
Its only the Castech 706 5.3/4.8 head that has issues. Not all 706's are made by Castech though so you have to pull the valve covers and check. Use this link below to a service bulletin on it...
Could be voltage regulator (integrated with alternator). Could be burned brushes or burnt slip ring in alternator.
There are places like auto zone that will check alternator on bench. Their machines are either on or off and don't have rpm tests. Many possibilities, but that's where I'd start...
Mine is fine and I keep it clean and lubed so have not done this particular repair. Here's a link to a You Tube video you may want to watch. It may be close to what you are trying to do. You want to make sure you order the correct length as the guy in video says there are several depending on...
You must have a scanner as SLCHOE states. There are relatively inexpensive scanners available (Hfreight) but you say you have one. 20 years ago some cars had series of flashing lights that meant particular but unspecified things, but actual drivetrain codes are specific and must have a scanner.
Who has experience with coolant leaks at the Engine Oil Cooler connector at the radiator? I have a 2004 Yukon Denali. The top Engine Oil Cooler (EOC) connector is leaking at the radiator fitting on the tank (not the eoc line). As I understand, the tank (plastic) can be removed and the eoc gasket...
