Ok, now I'm really confused. Seems the quick and easy way is to just replace the AFM lifters with new ones, replace the trays and leave the cam? Then just run my superchips tune with the AFM feature disabled? Then sell this POS Chevy and buy a Toyota? LOL . I love the Tahoe, have had 3 older...
Well, it looks like I have a collapsed lifter on the number 6 cylinder. I've had a superchips tune with the tow haul tune which includes a AFM delete. I believe it does, as I haven't seen the prompt when it would go into the V4 mode in years.
With that in mind, it seems you can still have...
My 07 just threw the same code, along with a hard shift, then check engine light. Started idling rough also. Ran the codes and said misfire on number 6. Checked plug, wire and coil and all checked good. Cranked the engine without starting and was a bit off. Mechanic thinks it's a broken valve...
I think you can put a resistor on the front strut connector and remove the code. It makes the system thinks it has the correct strut resistance, aka auto ride struts. The way I understand it is the front strut fluid has a resistance value and if that resistance is gone, as in a fluid leak, it...
Mine did the same thing last week. Stability control needs service, rough idle, but would run fine at highway speeds. Check engine light started flashing. So, I checked the codes, said cylinder 6 misfiring 600 times. So swapped wires and plugs with nearby cylinder. Same thing. I then checked...
I guess I should knock on wood. None of these issues with my 07 with the 5.3. My only complaint is it doesn't tow worth a shit. I attribute that to the 3:43 rear end. I'm looking to change to 3:73 and see what that does. Anyone tried it?
I've got an 07 Tahoe with 20s on it and it only has 73k miles. Rides and drives like shit too. Put new Goodyears on it today. The Michelins sucked. Curious to see what others think. I was thinking alignment also. Will run some miles on the new tires and see if it made any difference. The old...
I've got a 07 with the 5.3 and 3:42 rear end. 2 wheel drive. It tows terrible. No power up the steep grades. Constantly down shifting. I even tried a superchips tuner with the tow mode tune. No help. I'd like to try a 3:73 gear ratio. Any one have some input? Fuel mileage is not a great concern...
Somewhat related question. I put some new Goodyears on my 07 today. Finally wore out those crappy Michelins. Discount did the job and reset the sensors. Problem is the new tires require less air. Recommend 35psi. My dic alerts low pressure at anything less than 40 psi. Can this be set to a lower...
I'm in the same boat as you. My 07 rides like crap. It's a 2 wheel drive with only 70k miles. The rear auto leveling system seems to be working ok. Pumps up when I put a load on the rear and maintains it just fine. My front struts don't show any visible signs of leaks. But, man does this thing...
For the most part I didn't use the tow button. I usually run regular, tow or no tow. Never noticed any difference switching to premium. Also, I was towing through a lot of inclines and mountain passes on my way to Sturgis from NM.
Looks to be made of a different type of plastic is all I could see. $50 bucks worth? Well, it's cheaper than new mirrors with the same plastic gear that fails for sure. Time will tell. And they do have a lifetime warranty. And they state they tested them for thousands of cycles.
