    NP241 swap

Pulled the NP246 and performed an autopsy. Pump wore through the case on the top side. Broken bit from a cast steel part, shift or clutch fork maybe. Chain wear at front output sprocket from skipping or possibly running the loose steel part through the chain? Case damage.

Getting new rear axles - should I change from Gov bomb to Truetrack?

Replaced mine with a Yukon Duragrip and love it. If you live anywhet is snow or freezes I would swap it out. The way the governor works is pretty violent, and a good one wheel peel on a patch of ice could be all it takes to grenade.

    NP241 swap

Clutches, electronics, a magnesium case that the oil pump wears through. Can't think of a single reason to dump money into repairing an inferior case with so many failure points.

    NP241 swap

Ordered an NP241C, front driveline, and speed sensor pigtail from ebay. New t-case seals, gasket, and light switch pigtail from Rockauto, and a shifter from car-part. The front drive clutches are slipping, and I wanted to swap out for a 241 anyway for a future SAS or someting more exotic like a...

    Motor oil revelations !

As long as its not shitty top off oil from 7/11 and you change it regularly at 4 or 7K for conventional, or 8-10K synthetic, it really doesnt matter which oil you use. its the same as the old Chevy/Ford debate.

Chevy Traverse wheel on '04 Yukon?

Looking for a 17' spare to fit over my '07+ front brakes. Wondering if anyone has tried bolting on a 7x7.5 Steel traverse wheel. The six spoke design doesn't look hideous for fear mounted spare.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Bought/modified a spare tire rack. It had an adjustable height that I cut the face off of to make the upright tilt away. I also bought 1/8" 2x2 square tube to build a taller upright. Now I can just pull the pin and tilt it back to open the rear door.

The included brackets bolt right up to the older knuckles. Even use your old polts. Might have to use a washer due to the bolts being a scoshe too long, I may have placed the washer between the knuckle and bracket to space it out, I dont remember.

I did the rear powerstop discs and left my original calipers unpainted. Our trucks already have bigger brakes so they dont need upgrading. The powerstop pieces do look better and run coolaer though.

@brian.roberts.1293 That's the same set up I have on my '04. Bolts right in and uses your original brake lines too. As an aside, this is the second vehicle I have had the Power Stop brakes on (2015 Camaro) and they have been great.

@Tonyrodz Yeah, I was in second gear. It was popping and backfiring on decel. It has two generic cherrybombs side by side in the approximate area the old muffler was located.

    Limited slip going out

With our gov-loc diffs the worst case scenario is the governor coming apart, jamming the ring and pinion and splitting the carrier. If it's malfunctioning at all get that shit out of there and put an open diff or a Yukon Duragrip in there. New diff carrier bearings and swap your ring gear over...

Headlights suck, any good LED or HIDs??

End d up getting Spyder HID projectors from ebay. Some of the sockets were indexed wrong on the passenger side, and the plastic was so thick the sockets wouldn't secure with the gaskets in place. The ballasts were both wired backwards so I had to re-pin them. They look pretty good though and I'm...

Sorry for the slow response everyone. I have stock halogen bulbs in stock reflector housings. Thinking about HID projector housings with halos and LED high beams? I don't mind spending a couple hundred on the project.
