The owners manual states 210 deg is norm range for temp. so warming up it would not be unreasonable for the temp gauge to go to 230 deg or so. Maybe the gauge is slow to react? Cold Brakes
It may be fluid (brake fluid or axle lube) soaked pads. I had this problem with a bad wheel seal leaking oil and soaking the pads one wheel would grab and cause the wheel to lock up and skid. Front center seat/console problem
I posted this in the interior section but got no response. I have the folddown center seat in the seat front but the latch for the lid won't release. Newbie with some Radiator Questions
I would flush the system then go for the new radiatior, hoses, and thermostat, and water Pump and a new belt. I use the green Prestone, it does not seem to have corrosion issues as the orange dex cool. I know this is a lot be it is easier to change all this when you have the radiatior out...- bridgeman

Temp gauge issues
Should have done a radiator flush first. Flush all the rust out of the system first. I found some large deposits restricting the coolant flow in engine block. Flush the system 2 times as was amazed at what came out. The temp gauge reads fine now and the truck does not run hot and the heat...- bridgeman

Temp gauge issues
I got a new thermostat from Chevy and it looks some what different than the ones I got from NAPA. I will put it in once I Flush the system. Is there anything I could add to a flush other than using the Prestone rad flush to get rid of any deposits? Bridgeman- bridgeman

I put on an new rad. cap and tried to get the air out last nite. I still have the same gauge issues. So got a temp gun, got the truck hot and used the temp gun to get a reading on the coolant sensor that goes to the dash and it was reading about 215 deg the same as the dash gauge.
