It may be fluid (brake fluid or axle lube) soaked pads. I had this problem with a bad wheel seal leaking oil and soaking the pads one wheel would grab and cause the wheel to lock up and skid. Look to see if the rear (back side of the axle is wet with oil. this is a tell all sign.

I would flush the system then go for the new radiatior, hoses, and thermostat, and water Pump and a new belt. I use the green Prestone, it does not seem to have corrosion issues as the orange dex cool. I know this is a lot be it is easier to change all this when you have the radiatior out...

I got a new thermostat from Chevy and it looks some what different than the ones I got from NAPA. I will put it in once I Flush the system. Is there anything I could add to a flush other than using the Prestone rad flush to get rid of any deposits?
