That is the first time I have seen one like that and I have been playing with torsion bars since back in the square body 4x4 S-10 days.
I have seen them so tight that you had to beat them out with a sledgehammer.
What would be the point in having such a sloppy fit/tolerance???
I think it is pretty obvious what the issue is from that picture.
You should NOT be able to see light through the torsion bar hole. They should be a good tight fit without any slop or play.
Did you order control arms for a 2500 by chance???
Just thinking out loud.
Cali has some very beautiful parts but I wouldn't want to live there. I used to hate driving tractor trailer through there, stupid state wide 55 mph among other things.
Snapped a couple pics of my brother's K5. It is a work in progress but he has already installed an LS in it and put a set of AMP side steps on it.
I like how he adapted the stock style center caps to the aftermarket 14" wide wheels.
Thank you.
What temperature bulb are you running?
The Morimoto mini H1 8.0 is what I will be using as well. I plan on going with the 5k bulbs. All the rest of the lights on the front of the truck are 6k LED but I didn't want to give up the lumens, and I also don't want yellow (halogen colored)...
My LED high beams are stupid bright Super Nova V4 from Headlight Revolution. They tested them at 3600 lumens.

Of course none of that really matters considering the Bi-Xenon projectors I...
I am planning on retrofitting these headlights and am trying to decide what I want to do to the inside of them to make them a little different.
I will only be installing projectors in the low beam side and will be using my LED high beam bulbs.
Here are my thoughts and I would like some...
The Airaid MIT #200-996 is the best bang for the buck.
It is a smooth tube (loses the accordion section as well as the Hemholtz chambers on the factory tube that help quiet the intake sounds) that goes between the factory air box (which sucks "cold" air out of the fender) and the throttle body...
First off, if you are running 87 octane in a 6.2l you are leaving alot of performance on the table due to the knock sensors retarding the timing to compensate for the predetonation caused by the high compression engine running on low octane fuel and also risking potential damage to the engine...
Dorman is hit or miss, it just depends on the part.
As an example, I wouldn't trust their plastic heater hose T-connectors BUT they are the only company who makes an aluminum Y-connector for the hoses between the water pump, surge tank, and heater core... and it is a solid piece and eliminates...
Dorman 949-099 is the compressor I went with...
https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-101394-949-099.aspx
It has a rubber "mud flap" covering over the top as well as the bottom to help protect it from the debris slinging off the rear tire.
It also has a thermal protection switch (circuit breaker)...
I have a Grey cargo shade that came out of my 1st Gen 2000 Escalade.
This should fit any GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon/Denali/Escalade.
It has been sitting in my shed for many years. I had forgotten about it until I ran across it the other day.
It is a little dirty and needs to.be scrubbed up but it...
Yeah, I don't mind shipping it, that's why I mentioned it.
Just PM me your address again and I will get it boxed up and shipped out when I get a free minute.
What is your project? Unless it is top secret, then you can divulge it in the PM... lol
I've got two.
I kept my old ones when I swapped to the SKF X-tracker Hybrid hubs.
Not sure how many miles on the old ones but they didn't give any indication of being bad, I replaced them simply because the entire front-end was getting rebuilt.
Engine mounts is a good possible source for the clunk when taking off although the GMT800 platform is less prone to torn mounts than the GMT900 platform.
It is extremely difficult to diagnose things without being present, especially noises.
It sounds like you already have things figured out with the tire size. It also sounds like you already have a deal lined up on some tires.
I was just going to add that I was running 285/40/22s on my Burb when it was 4/6 dropped with almost zero rubbing.
The 275/45 is slightly taller at .7"...
It's funny that you mention this recalculating days later. I was beginning to think I was crazy.
My wife filled up with 89 octane (E10) the other day and after driving it for a while, plenty long enough for it to calculate the E%, I checked it and it said 3%. A couple days later I checked the...
They look pretty good as is, and as you said they almost match your paint already, so I would either keep them like they are or CM.
Black is kinda played out, IMO.
I am keeping an eye on this thread and your findings as my truck appears to be doing the same thing, as previously mentioned.
I have noticed that once in a while when I remote start the truck that it will crank for an extended amount of time before actually firing up. Normally it fires up very...
Nice job... those are great wires but they are just a little long for our trucks. Keep an eye on the driver's side as when I first installed them the steering column would catch one and pull it loose from the plug and cause a misfire. I ended up using a zip tie to hold the wires away from the...
