    Yukon SLT Fog Lights Setting

I made a wiring harness from this pigtail splitter to run two sets of fog lights (factory + aftermarket set). I wonder if someone could make a harness to plug into the headlight plug that would power both headlight and fog light. It would require modification of the leads to have the correct...

Looking to buy a work truck. Need expert assistance.

I had a 01 Sub 2500 with the 6.0 and it was at about 300k original engine/trans. PO ran it without trans fluid for a LOT of miles and the thing was beat on hard. I drove it for about a yr and 20k then it imploded but not from fault of the truck or me. Would highly recommend any GMT800 2500...

    Yukon SLT Fog Lights Setting

So I had a popcorn thought today. Has anyone checked to see if a standard slit can be plugged in and then wired into the fog lamp so the end result would be if the headlights turn on, so will the fogs? I just made an harness to go from the fog light plug, split, and power a set of Rigid...

    Yukon SLT Fog Lights Setting

I might have missed it but was BoostAuto discussed? Isn’t this exactly what you are looking for? It does not list the new Yukons or Tahoes but fits Silverados… might be worth trying at $23 https://boostautoparts.com/products/1999-2024-gm-auto-fogs-mod?year=2018&make=Chevy&model=Suburban

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Pretty sure these are them. The box is downstairs and can confirm tomorrow. If you want to install them with an independent switch that is pretty straightforward. If you want to use them via the factory switch then it will take me a bit to put the full parts list together...

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Should have documented better but can walk anyone thru the process and parts list if needed. Mounted a set of SAE certified Rigid pod lights behind the grill that I plugged into the truck’s factory fog light harness. Works perfect and looks completely OEM. It’s a “cheap” alternative to Morimoto...

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

Correct. I think the swap would have to be Suburban 3500 because when looking at the wheel bases of the Silverados, they are different than the Suburbans. Quick search shows the Suburban at 130” and Silverado at 133-167”. Possible trimming on the short wheelbase but likely not ideal.

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

Hate to burst your bubble but I do not believe the 2500 and 3500 Silverado chassis are the same as our SUVs… Duraburb is talking about the Suburban 3500 chassis as being able to accommodate the body swap you desire. These trucks are 6.0 w/6L90 trans

Will 20" tire improve ride quality

Bigger rims = worse ride. I have 16” rims on my old Toyota and 33” tires. The ride is amazing. Start with replacing shocks. I just did them on my suburban and it was night and day. My truck only had 70k on it so if your truck has anywhere near that, start there then look at mich ltx tires...

    Shocks for a plusher ride?

I have not seen an issues so far with my Ranchos… the lifetime warranty made me comfortable with them and based on the price, I can ride them for a year or two then put something else on and not feel overly guilty. Bilsteins were still a bit more expensive.

    Hi there

That is a major bummer! Sorry to hear about the issue. I do think you are in the right place for adding content and gaining valuable knowledge! Welcome to the club

Check RockAuto before you buy. There are discount codes posted by several members on here too. They are hard to beat cost wise.

Thinking of picking up a travel trailer... How can I bolster the tow capacity to afford myself a bigger trailer?

Rockola is right… you can make the truck “better” at towing but ultimately if you are over weight on the vehicle you are getting into the legal realm. But since we are all talking hypothetical, you should also look at the trailer hitch capacity. Does not matter if you have the “tow package”...

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Are these GM rails or from somewhere else? Make sure your new place has a high lift garage door - I was lucky enough that the original builders of my house had a camper so the garage is about 1ft higher than a “normal” garage. Also, does anyone have thoughts on Ironbull bumpers?

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

Duraburb does a great job walking thru the trucks. These really should have been more readily available to the public as they are awesome trucks! Not that @Geotrash and I are biased by any means, but if you want the “best of the best” modern SUV out there… this is really hard to beat.

    Shocks for a plusher ride?

I agree so far. Had them set to a 1 just to see how “soft” they could go… it was literally like being on a boat to the point it felt unsteady. Both front and rears at 5 and it’s real nice.

Fix and Keep My 2015 GMC Yukon SLT or Get Rid of It?

I guess this is what you get when you are on the inside of the stealerships… LOL. I think you have received lots of great recommendations tho. Hopefully we have supported your decision to keep the truck and drive it! These are good trucks and to your earlier point, many of us, can’t or won’t...

    Shocks for a plusher ride?

Ahhh ok that makes sense. I was very impressed with the overall quality of the 9k. The factory ones are garbage. These felt nicer and look much better once installed - at the price they are even better. I will be updating my 3500 thread as I put some miles on them but I agree with you that I...

    Shocks for a plusher ride?

Ouch… rough crowd on the Ranchos lol. I thought the Ranchos were different than the factory OEM? The ones I just bought seemed very nice and they really made a difference in ride. Life time warranty also is a big plus. Only time will tell…

    Shocks for a plusher ride?

Hello, so I just replaced my factory shocks on my 2018 (70k-ish miles) and 3 of the 4 shocks were toast. Similar ride to what you described. I agree that the shocks don’t look bad visually but neither did mine. When I took them off the rears were basically frozen and the front puked oil all...

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

Another option, depending on overall budget and willingness to drive is a 2015-2018 Suburban 1-ton. Check out my thread on here about them. There are a few out there on market, mostly lower trim models but a few LTs come up. Again, as it has already been said, it’s a proven drivetrain. 6.0 with...

Fix and Keep My 2015 GMC Yukon SLT or Get Rid of It?

You may want to attempt your hand at some of these repairs… RockAuto is a great place to start for part pricing. There are guys on here that post their discount codes (@OR VietVet is one of them if I remember right) and then a YouTube video or so and you are off to the races. I did front/rear...

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Your shocks may not be shot. The rears on mine were just awful and the front left puked oil on me when I jacked the truck up, the only “good one” was front right and it was not smooth. These Ranchos really have made a HUGE difference. It doesn’t ride like a Cadillac but it definitely doesn’t...

    Chevrolet Suburban 3500 Questions

Quick follow-up to the Rancho shocks: the replacements came in and did not expand like the previous set or the rear shocks. Called Rancho and there are in-fact different shock builds within the same line-up so the front shocks do not rebound by themselves like the rears so I returned perfectly...
