I have a $130 Mike Norris Motorsports catch can on my C5 Corvette. Inlet on top, outlet on side. It doesn't catch liquid any better than the $30 side inlet and outlet chicom cc that's been on the Yukon for 5 yrs.
On the driverside the PVC (positive crankcase ventilation) system uses vacuum from the intake manifold to draw out crankcase gases (blowby) from the engine via the ds valve cover area. If the baffling in the driverside valve cover is designed properly it draws gases only, not liquid oil.

our 6L80 has had the 2-3 flare above 3k rpm when cold since we bought it 5 yrs and 60 k miles ago. So I lift off the gas pedal during the 2-3 shift a little under that condition. I do used atf analysis and change the Dexron6 each 25k miles and filter each 50k miles.

Here are 3 previous used oil reports for the 6.2L, and a baseline (BL) or virgin or unused report. All 4 of these previous reports are about Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5w-40.
The 3 best reports when looking only at Iron (Fe) ppm are:
3/29/19, Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5w-40, 8100 miles, Fe=39 ppm or 4.8 ppm...
