I have been trying to take it easy. Got on it a little bit and it was down on power so it was lame. But part throttle has been nice. Now that we fixed our misfire and get the tune right im thinking its gonna be a nice driver. Meaning tow good, nice street manners etc.

LTs, and BTR cam (and 6k+ rpms) cause the high duty cycle. Flex fuels are like 50 vs 24 stock. Decaps were like 65.

Fast forward, found a plug wire grounding out to the dipstick tube. The fix: regap all plugs from 60 to 35, and move the dipstick further away. She's running like a champ now. Now I guess I'm retuning it with the new injectors and now no misfire.

I cant seem to win with this truck. Randomly started getting some gear whine under load from the rear end (motive 4.10s, stock open diff). Pulled the plug and there was some shavings. I figured I dont like the 4.10s with the 4l80e gearing so lets upgrade right? Ordered up an Auburn posi and...

Yoke fit great, th400/4l80e Sonnax 1330 full spline. And it has more slip then the 60e even though the 80e is about a half inch longer. Segment swap from a 2004 HD, 12 quarts of fluid, pinned 22 and 23 for the input speed sensor, converter showed about .200 clearance so i added a 1/16th shim.

Sold the old converter for $350, TCI pan for $120, and 4l60e for $50. Here's the pan shrapnel: New Circle D, same spec as before, 3k/3200 stall speed. Sometimes its the little things in life..... $1 worth of purple power, $1 worth of spray paint, and the HD2 kit is installed and pan in...

I live in the south, no snow or inclement weather. The front diffs are notoriously bad on these trucks plus room to work is tight in the front. So ease of maintenance, less things to break that I don't need.

Long story short, this 60e has been fighting me again. It's always had a harsh 1/2 shift, so like a clever hptooner I took some pressure out. It worked really well for about 100 miles. Then 2nd starting slipping. I added the pressure back, it stopped slipping after another 100 miles, harsh...

Pump if i could guess. I could count on one hand how many relays ive seen fail in the last 20 years of working on cars.

The last time out i had no boost controller and was on wastegate only which had a 7psi spring, and the car made exactly 7psi. This time i put 10 psi on top of the gates and it made 14psi. Anything over 12 the afr would go in the 13s and injector duty cycle went over 100% which indicates its out...

On board air and boost leash is installed and working well. Went to load the car and there was a massive exhaust leak..... Tubular front came in handy. 1 hour fix and the track day wasn't ruined. Tow ***** doing what she does. I just wanna do race car shit with my race car friends. Monkey...

Recently discovered some pitting on the chrome wheels. I think it was a combination of lack of maintenance/upkeep and cheap wheels. The chinese tires were also dry rotting I guess just due to age cause they still have a ton of tread. Found these local for a steal so I scooped them up. Same size...

Quick little update and a temp delay. First, Ms Jane posted the pic she took at the track the other day, go like her page on FB, she takes good starting line pics. https://www.facebook.com/Jane-Baker-Photography-1520799948220011/ Also another little short clip/pass from two weeks ago...

Local track has been shutdown for quite a while. Today the new managers decided to open it up for TNT so to speak. I spent the morning working on the car and decided let's do it. I'm still waiting on the Boost Leash controller so I'm on the wastegate springs, 7psi, no boost controller. The goal...

Its hot. When It's not hot, it's rainy. Besides the BS we still are making progress. Boost Leash is on order, and it needs air. Viair 10000. It filled it's own tires today. Regulator is capped BC the controller is back-ordered for 2 weeks. Yard pics.

Be Cool 35005. The issue is ground clearance. Though the old setup fits perfect, but you could see it from the front, and I was worried about it hitting anything, the trailer, something in the road, etc. Couldn't even clear a soda can. So quickly, the old radiator is about 28x19. The Be Cool...

Took the old lady out for a $100 outback lunch. Birthday lunch and she deserves it, a truly good woman. Bought an ebay gt45, no clue why, maybe we will put it on the yukon tow *****. The guy I sold my old turbo kit to crushed the cold side pipe. So we are doing him a solid and...

Good to have friends in low places. She is "legal" again for tuning. Just need to put this on the windshield. 2step is here......but do i need it? Hit near 15psi at 4200+ rpm on the foot brake in the garage. This seems insane to me, and I have 7lb springs in the gates so how, why? I'm...

Some HPTuners fuckery going on today. The booster is hooked to the manifold (for vacuum) and the idle has been funky. New booster, time to get the idle dialed in. That's done. Previously, it would foot brake to about 3k and 0 psi and the tires would go up after that. Started reducing timing and...

Another small update but feels like a mountain to me. First thing is first, battery back in the box, bolted down, with carpet under it. Gonna add some carpet over the trans tunnel and wheel tubs soon. That dont win races so its on the backburner ATM. Got the car on the ground and had no...

Small update but feels like a mountain to me. Brakes are bled and she's moving under her own power. I've got a few things lined up, brakes feel hard I'm not sure if the booster gave out, carpet, finish putting the interior together, bolt the battery back down, and a toon. Still waiting on the...
