Been a while since my last update. Been building this for a buddy....

Not much been going on with mine other then the usual crank up and maybe drive around the yard. Long story short, things appeared great...
You can tear down to the balljoints including hubs in about 30 mins taking your time on these trucks. They are retarded easy to work on. Surprised this is even a question.
Every vehicle Ive ever bought needed a few things done to be at my standard. Not buying one bc it needs a battery or a console door is Fing retarded. I almost expect it to need things like this bc lots of people simply do not care to do minor repairs. And a dealership wont do it bc it directly...
Absolutely not. No issues. Like we talked about, the axle doesn't hold the hub together, the bearings are press fit and non serviceable. IF, in the event of a complete failure, your axle would help being there, though it would probably still break your brake caliper bracket and send you off the...
I think so yeah. The issue is this trans has good parts in it, and I have an aftermarket converter already. Don't feel like waiting for this combo to sell and buying something else. Plus this time of year this is a tough sell.
Tow/Haul mode should do the downshifting and converter unlocking for you. IF it seems not quite good enough i would pull it down to 3rd, however once you think it should be there it should have beat you to it.
I appreciate constructive criticism. Let me first start by saying it doesn't bother me you disagree......but, the pairs of heads Ive done this with I couldn't count on 2 hands and every single one ran fantastic. I wouldn't have posted this otherwise. That being said you can understand why i take...
The tailshaft is different but thats the easy part, its the output shaft thats different and requires trans disassembly to change out. Hence the reason it makes more sense to sell a working trans and buy the one you need.
For the most part LS heads are very good quality, you find that most (even higher mileage units) do not require a valve job. If you are swapping on a used set, and want to save some $$$ at the machine shop, here is an alternative for you. I hope this gives you an understanding of valve sealing...
I realized I never put up a pic of the trans cooler setup. I had pics of the brackets I made in detail and somehow the pics vanished.
Whoops!!!!
Broken input drum on the 4l60e.
So since the truck is down for a bit, remember i put the air lift bags on the rear with a tire valve filler? I...
Here is a pic of the coolers, i thought i bought a matching one in size but it turns out it was about 1/3 bigger. Oh well, they fit. The new one is in the center and notice the Ys on the framerail. I changed to black nylon hose and will be buying that from now on, that stainless mesh line is...
Sounds like a good deal. My rebuilt/upgraded 60e just broke the front pump and i lost all forward gears. Second time Ive pulled it in a year or so. Not thrilled about that.
