    Pinion noise?

The PINION (pinion only nothing else) preload is around 15 to 20 inch pounds with NEW bearings. I shoot for 20 on new bearings. With old bearings I'd probably go by feel or shoot for slight drag, say maybe 5 inch/pounds. How the heck you gonna get a reading with brakes, axles, and several OTHER...

Camaro SS, track trips, build pics etc.

Got some parts in, bottom left is the new ring gear bolts and cover gasket for the 12 bolt, bottom right is wideband o2 harness extension, top right is a fuel filter with the stainless washable element, left is the 3.73 gears I'm reinstalling. Wasn't gonna buy a prefab crossmember to the tune...

5 millionth Air ride thread... Monroe kit without compressor?

You need to pull the autoride fuse to get the light to go away. I did to mine and no issues. I also installed manual shocks with manual fill bag that were only needed when i lowered the truck, it towed fine with the stock springs. See here...

Air suspension to standard shock conversion

Take the air ride shocks off, install standard shocks. Doesn't get much more simple then that. I would disconnect the compressor also. I converted mine here: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/yukon-down-awd-delete-headers-converter-etc.81191/

Camaro SS, track trips, build pics etc.

Figured as i STILL dont have the turbo piping i would move to the rear of the car and get a few things done there. I dropped the fuel tank.......you can see in this pic the excess lines and charcoal canister. Yep you guessed it, thats all going away. Stock bucket, and it has a Racetronix 255...

Camaro SS, track trips, build pics etc.

First thing i needed to do was remove the master cylinder (after bending new lines) and bench bleed it for final install. This is the contraption I made to cycle the fluid back into the reservoir. It took about 20 full pumps to remove all air bubbles. Not sure what happened to the oil...

Camaro SS, track trips, build pics etc.

If you refer back to a pic of the battery area, there is a hole in the lower part, and I talked about wanting to make something to cover it. Well i traced the area out of cardboard and made a little sheet metal piece to cover the hole. I also welded a stud to it and the framerail. Here it is...

    Electric fan swap

I got the Nelson harness and added the settings in the pcm with hptuners. Love them, it's like a factory install, controllable, and works perfect.

Has anyone pulled the oil pan on their NBS Denali ( or 4WD)??

I usually use a combination of brake parts cleaner and purple power degreaser. Then for paint I generally keep a few cans of the rustoleum bbq black high heat. It's dull and has no shine so if you want something fancy get duplicolor 500 degree engine enamel in the gloss black. Either will work...

factory vs custom cooling fan on/off temps?

First, they turn off anytime over 35 mph (i believe that's stock setting) and no they actually rarely run. Summer time the low is usually on in stop and go, and high will kick on during extended stops. Temps are actually 195 low and 205 high, I think i misquoted earlier.

    Shift kit

"annoying to drive" means nothing. We dont know what exactly you are saying. Changing pressures, so? From 80 to 90 whooptie doo, does that actually effect shift feel, or shift performance? A million minute changes in the computer and you feel NOTHING as a driver, so they arent all super...

    Shift kit

No, there isnt a need for a tune after a shift kit, jeez yall give terrible advice here. And no the computer will not adapt and undo the effects of a shift kit, slap yourself for saying that sir.

Has anyone pulled the oil pan on their NBS Denali ( or 4WD)??

I lowered my diff, pan wont come out otherwise. You do not have to fully drop it or disconnect the axles but you do have to undo the mounting bolts to get it to drop down.
