I don't think anybody has said burn the place down. We said to run it up the chain to the next Level, especially since it's been 2 weeks and they have no provided a clear resolution/timeline and haven't provided him any type of other form of transportation while his vehicle is in for service...
So @DuraYuk you are basically saying this guy should keep his mouth shut and just let the dealer not provide any type of customer service level to try and satisfy his requests. Since GM has in place no need to document any type of work that might be done on a vehicle until it's actually...
If they keep refusing to give a loaner, go the route of pulling your car out and Towing it to another dealer that says they can get it in earlier and possibly give you a loaner. I'd also be having GM take care of that tow bill as well.
Dealer update today " haven't gotten to look at it yet. Both the diesel and trans techs are backed up" ... supposedly my rig was 4th in line for diagnosis when dropping it off friday.. seems weird they wouldn't be able to accomplish one vehicle a day if that was true .... but maybe they also...
Haven't heard back from my dealer yet. Dropped off last Friday.... as soon as i get it back, I will be posting the report and any information they give me to help others out that might run into this issue as well.
Found a similar link to my local Cadillac dealership, free pickup so cost $132. And now we wait for GM to figure out when they want to get it to the dealer.
Ooooooowwwwiiiiieeeeee OEM trying to make some money off freight.... $315 to ship either one of them boxes to MI. I should see if they will allow customer pickup from the warehouse lol
Here was the codes dealer pulled up from their system. Sitting n waiting for diagnosis. They gave me a brand new Acadia denali for a loaner, so that was courteous of them.
Ill be dropping it off tomorrow regardless. But one would think your statement is logical and true.... but these lazy ass dealers/shops nowadays are like "oh we can't duplicate it or see anything wrong, so just wait for it to happen again and bring it to us when it's actively going on"
Little update: So on my trip back home after dinner.... the CEL is still on but the transmission seemed to be shifting like normal, and when putting into neutral that service message doesn't pop up.
Still concerned, and need the dealer to diagnois the CEL and whatever else... kinda sorta want...
I got a call and email out to my service rep at the dealer. I sent him these same pics but haven't gotten a response back yet. Thanks for that insight, hopefully the dealers around here won't be as backed up for 2 weeks if that's the case. Of course I'll keep the thread updated as things...
OEM isn't worth it.
Go the tablet route with a mount behind the seat. Cheaper cost up front, portable, and will be easier to replace in 2 years when both are outdated.
These new Diesel engine don't get the credit they should to the general public of America. Everybody has the stigma of diesels blasting out black smoke, being super loud, along with not being winter friendly.
Europe loves their diesels in passenger vehicles. America not so much.
