5C1 is some sort of 'plexiglass panel' on the left hand side. I can find no other info on that.

Judging by the lack of a spotlight and the full-length front spoiler, I'd guess it's a standard Tahoe. It does have the steel wheels, but does it have other hints of service, like rubber mats or signs of a second battery? I know these things can be added or deleted options when ordered, but that's what I'd look for.

rubber flooring and no second battery, however there are signs of drilled holes in the headliner and rear plastic where lights have been installed, also in the second battery tray there are holes maybe from a siren speaker. cloth in the front and vinyl second seat with no third row. definitely a utility vehicle. Carfax had it listed as a Tahoe Fleet spending it's life around San Antonio TX. It's looks almost identical to my 2011, except that it has Tahoe badges. It doesn't have the extra 8gage wiring going to the rear as well. So I guess it's just a low end LS. That being said it was a great deal and a fun field trip to Chicago.

It's not an LS when it has steel wheels and rubber floor, there's probably some fleet code to it.
You should try to find another police one with a listed vin to check the codes to see what it shows as and if you are lacking any of the HD parts. It could be this new way of running the rpo codes its just not showing 9C1 or the designation. There's been codes missing on some of the stuff I've looked up.

My truck is also catalogue code 5C1.. i don’t think it has much relevance to the actual model but probably more in reference to fleet sales vs retail, but not entirely sure . . .

Do you have Z56 police chassis package? RAP - steel wheels ? 6J3 - headlight flasher ?

Any idea on what entity actually owned it? Whose name was on the title ? If it was federal, us gov is known to have some peculiar fleet vehicles. Could have been just a regular Tahoe ordered with steel wheels and rubber floors. Or ordered with rubber floors and aLloy rims and someone slapped the steel wheels on. Pretty sure gov/fleet buyers have more flexibility with options than normal retail buyers but idk

Either way, looks like a nice ride. Congrats

no Z56, no 6J3, wheels are RD6 steel wheels design 2, must have been some govt entity that ordered it, otherwise how did Chicago Motors end up with it. however, Carfax said it was titled a personal vehicle but there are signs of removed lights and where a siren speaker was up front. I appreciate the info.
