160 thermo. Heat spike at 107° weather.
My understanding of the thermostat temp is when it opens to allow the coolant out of the engine block and into the radiator to be cooled off. So a 160 thermostat will open sooner, allowing flow continuously above that point. The 187 thermostat will allow the temp to be higher in the motor...- tRidiot

Best quality rear bumper?
I will probably do that this summer or fall. I replaced my chrome bumpers with Ebay primered black ones years ago. They are still fine, although starting to get some light rust spots on them (at least 9 years old now). I never painted them, just left them black primer. Now they have some dings... -

New dash cluster.
Yeah mine did not have trans temp on the original. The new one came from DDS with it already added and it worked out of the box. Highly recommended. There are several services out there, but DDS is high in my book. -

So last night I pulled that bearing - had to do some additional stuff to shift the #2 alt out of the way, but really wasn't too hard. Remove one bolt, loosen another, tilt the alt and then pull the bolt holding that bearing. Interestingly, I found my other pulley in the grass about 10 feet from...- tRidiot

The fluid was low on the power steering - I think he drained it, then refilled it, but it sucked it all down into the system when he was driving it back to me. Probably with the Hydroboost he didn't realize it would take that much fluid? He said he filled it to full, but that was before driving...- tRidiot

Hmm, yeah I need to look into that. I'm not above buying new door handles, if they'll be strong. Maybe I can do that AND reinforce that point with something prior to installation? -

You guys are right... I got my Tahoe back this weekend and took a look, it is not the mounting clip on the bezel that is broken - it is the plastic piece the clip fits INTO - this is part of the door panel. I'm not sure what I can do to fix this. I'm gonna have to do some looking. I don't want... -

Pulled out the Ebay Z71 roof rack I bought - found out that doesn't fit, either, bolt patterns aren't right. I'm pretty discouraged...- tRidiot

Got 'er back. She runs fine, but the power steering is effed. It whines just sitting now and whines when you turn, plus the brake pedal sorta of grinds/pulses when you push on it - even sitting and idling. My install guy says he's sure it's just low and maybe needs bled. So I can't get to the...- tRidiot

There's a module under the dash that affects your 'fast flash' issue, too - I can't remember specifics about it, I need to find the thread that talks about that, because I've got a fast-flash on the right after putting in my LED DRLs... AND... in addition I have problems with my cruise control... -

I think the problem is, with the stickers, they're white lettering, right, not cutouts? So if I do the LED swap, it will cover up my blue lights. No bueno. I want the blue! Freaking PIMP. I absolutely LOVE that color, my man, your Tahoe DENALEEEEE is GORGEOUS!- tRidiot

So apparently once installed and buttoned up, my motor runs wonderfully. But the rear seal leaked. <sigh> He's now dropped the exhaust and trans again and found the rear main seal around the crank is leaking. I REALLY want to do that LED conversion! I'm going to look into that.... But the other thing is, the buttons on my window, steering wheel and HVAC control unit are wearing, is there a way to refinish them to look new again instead of the lettering and such wearing off?
