I did that to mine. I did the license plate lights last summer and did the interior lights a few months ago. The added light is great, especially in WY where there is very little overhead lighting anywhere in town and it is pitch black outside of town.

I will always love chrome. But I am partial to antique cars and the stately appearance they presented. I do agree that modern chrome is garbage and most of it is fake chrome, just plastic covered in fake garbage. But, I have never been a fan of the total monochrome look.

There is a thin plastic type gasket that is supposed to seal the lens. It is missing on one of my lenses. Eventually I I'll make another one out of a slightly thicker material.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Getting ready to get back on the road. Stayed overnight in Utah, Yukon got warmer than I liked pulling long grades in 115* heat. Would sometimes get to the 3/4 matk but would come right back down very quickly. May have to invest in a radiator just to see if that makes any difference. Didn't get...

Late yesterday I washed the Yukon and put a ceramic coating on it all over. Hoping it will help with keeping the bugs and road grime off for our trip to WY tomorrow.

That seems like a good deal considering they are hard to come by. Mine has the faux wood trim but I wouldn't mind all leather. I just hate that these things always seem to pop up when I need to not be adding to my parts piles. :(

You will never be able to buy a used cat in Calif. Ever. The cost of keeping a car fully CARB compliant can be more than the vehicle is worth. Many years ago, a coworker had a Volvo that his wife loved. He had some cat issues and after getting pricing on new cats, he just sold the car to his...

The 2002 Nissan Altima I have will roll down all of the windows if you hold the unlock button for more than 5 seconds. Comes in handy to air out the car before getting in. Holding down lock does not roll them up but putting the key in the driver's door, turning it to the lock position and...

Thank you for the response. Aluminum leaving black residue is a common side effect of an untreated surface.

Anyone have any experience with this hitch? I just picked one up and the reviews look good but they could be fake. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Aluma-Tow-6-Drop-Adjustable-Interchangeable-Hitch-System-by-Uriah-Products-UT623410-3-Hitch-Balls-Locking-Pins-12-000-lb-GTWR/981641716

All done. This old man is about to have a heat stroke. The few instances like this a year is when I miss having a pool. Rinse off and then dive in and feel the heat get sucked out of your body. I'll be taking it for a ride after I hit a cool shower and rest for a bit. Need to pick up a trailer...

At the recommendation of others here, I went with the Husky flaps. The rears fit very nice and are very secure. Working on the fronts now.

Gor the rear mud guards on. Came inside to cool off. Tough working in the sun in 106* weather. Going to tackle the fronts.

    Tech 2 scanner vs Autel

I got so busy with my retirement and my upcoming move that I have not ordered a Tech 2 clone, yet. So far, my Launch has almost everything I need to keep up with repairs but the programmability of the Tech 2 will be a huge bonus.

One of the many reasons I am moving to a free state. I will be able to install whatever I damn well please.

I may have to get a set for my Denali with the big engine. Would be sweet since I don't have to worry about smog.

Does Rigid have a 20v line or are they still using 18v for their battery packs? My Porter Cable stuff is all 20v.

Good to know about Rigid with their lifetime batteries. I have a handful of Porter Cable cordless tools, including 1/2 in impact since they all take the same batteries.

One of the great things about moving to a Free State is never having to deal with smog and CARB BS. My Yukon had its last smog check when I bought it last year.

I have been wanting to get one for well over a decade now, just never went through with the purchase. My 2002 Alitma with the 3.5 can be a pain to get all the air bubbles out of the cooling system, mainly due to radiator being quite a bit lower than the top of the engine. Maybe I will have to...

    Z55 rebuild or bilsteins

Where did I say any other system was dangerous? I'm just saying that the shocks are part of the overall Stabilitrak system and removing them will make the vehicle overall less capable in slippery conditions. I was just giving you an idea of what eliminating the shocks would do, you can decide on...

    Z55 rebuild or bilsteins

The yaw sensor is one piece of the overall system. If the shocks didn't provide feedback to the overall system, why would there be electrical connectors for the shocks? The ride height sensors take care of overall ride height while the in shock sensors provide feedback on the position and speed...

    Z55 rebuild or bilsteins

With resistors, your stability system is only going to get a single reading from each shock, meaning the system will not receive accurate, live feedback. The system may function with the resistors but it will not be as responsive as it would be with live feedback, but if you're good with that...

    Z55 rebuild or bilsteins

FWIW - When the steering angle sensor went out in the middle of winter it disabled the Stabilitrak and the Traction Control systems. It was a night and day difference in stability on snowy / icy roads with both disabled compared to when the entire system is operating properly. So, if you live...

Since your pads wore unevenly, did you make sure the slide pins were cleaned up and lubed? And did you check the piston for corrosion tht could be causing uneven pressure application?
