I didn't have much issue. It was literally like a long nut. I did however, call their tech support about alignment question. The sleeve covers the provision on the inner tie rod to adjust the alignment. They said was non-issue. I then went to alignment shop to get it aligned and didn't seem to...
Saving notes here... Apply plate looks perfect. When I built my 4L60E they were all chewed up in core I rebuilt haha. The one in my build here looks like a new one.
Apply Plate Thickness 0.252" Measured in three locations w/in 0.0002"
Selective Spacer: 0.071" Measured in three places w/in...
@Bmorey67 let us know how they turn out! In hindsight I wish I'd just purchased an upgraded assembly like that as apposed to the sleeves. It wasn't that much more.
Problem isn't your tcase. It is the transmission. If makes noise in neutral or park. Drop service pan... see if you have clutch material in there or metal parts. Or something on the accessories. Power steering pump can make a dreadful noise too if it's going out.
The 4l60e likes to push one of...
Clutch hub and drum was immaculate. Some wobble in the needle bearing though at neck of drum. no abnormal wear on the shaft or anywhere. Maybe is typical.
I measured the clutch pack including the apply plate and spacer. Measured in three places was and pretty uniform. When measuring I held...
Awesome! I'll try to get into the drum tonight after work and measure thickness of the original clutch stack-up.
Curious, I have LOTS of dextron VI. The parts store now says to use Dextron VI in the NP246 tcase. However, that seems highly disputed online. I've no clue haha can I use the NP 246...
I've got all the parts ordered minus few incidentals; encoder, clutches, vent, etc. Actually not sure where to order factory clutches from... Rock auto didn't have them, ebay does but I never fully trust eBay.
You have convinced me :) What you mention is how I did it in my 4L60E build (more or...
The rear is REALLY easy to get at. Might be worth considering doing it yourself. I redid my rear... I've also tore apart the front. The front is more involved. Many people cut the dash to do it. I'd not do that. I'd do it right and take out the dash itself. That said the front isn't impossible...
What year is your truck? I have a 2001. My transfer case control buttons don't do a LED self check.
I actually have no issues with my transfer case right now. Just bought a spare one to rebuild so I have a fresh transfer case. Well I have ONE issue, when I put it in 4wd, the LED doesn't...
I never had an issue on license plate. Had mine there for years.
Otherwise I would delete the rear window snipers and put on hole from it.
Ton or work though as you would have to remove headliner to get video feed and reverse signal to the camera.
I simply ran mine down cable run at door trim...
I've caused this issue years ago... Don't 100% recall exactly where the fuse was. However, pretty sure you've blown a fuse.
Some of the gauges come from the PCM some are direct and work regardless, I think oil pressure is one example? I don't believe that signal comes from the PCM. So you...
Hrm...
How many amps does the head unit call for?
How many watts are your speakers / the amp in the system?
Does it blow the fuse if you keep the volume down lower?
I've blown that fuse but for other reasons. I was a dumbass and put jumper cables backwards. I caught it, but it blew that fuse...
Good thought! Yeah I don't recall it either but it's 18 ft lbs or less... maybe even something odd like 11. I remember when I changed mine. They may have torqued them unevenly.
The next item on my to do list is rebuilding a NP 246 Transfer case. I bought a spare on just to do this. I need to disassemble it and get a better idea of what's involved. Bit nervous as well as I have original pumpkins in my differential housings and old Transfer Case in my truck. Those are...
