I forgot to answer your question. Sounds like they did warranty the repair. He took originally after they replaced the knock sensors and they replaced the harness at that point. I think his trouble is, it's his work truck and he doesn't have any downtime to let them troubleshoot the problem...
Yeah I encouraged he find out what the part is they put in.
Sounds like they didn't replace the harness. He took it back when it wasn't working and oddly enough they had only replaced the sensors and not the $15 harness or whatever that costs. They took it apart again and replaced the harness...
I've never turned off knock sensors haha
That said nothing is loose, so far as we can tell.
However, I definitely wondered if they used authentic AC Delco parts at the shop where they replaced them. If they are slightly different electrically they'll create false knock.
Unfortunately, my...
The sensors are new, along with the harness... The shop replaced them both. I also validated the sensors with an oscilloscope. They create current when I tap on the block.
I have two somewhat unrealted questions:
1. I need to know which sensor is associated with P0327.
2. It hasn't seemed to...
I have replaced most everything on my truck. Many parts I pulled were good or I ended up with extras from the junkyard. I want to pass this stuff on as it's rapidly accumulating in my garage and I hate to throw it away.
I am putting photos on google below...
I have regrets about pushing wires through my factory grommet in the firewall.
I put through wires for a CB radio, and something else. I took it apart twice and now it's falling apart. The factory grommet SUCKS for adding things. There are some aftermarket ones for boats that are AWESOME.
In...
First there are two knock sensor fault codes. One is for Bank one, the other for Bank 2. However, both sensors are located directly in middle of the valley. We're getting code P0327, anybody know if that's the front knock sensor or the rear knock sensor and which sensor is which on the harness...
Video of me adjusting outside the vehicle.

Note you will want to leave a VERY slight lash/ gap for oil film to remain on gear. Don't make it super tight or you will wear the gear out.... I learned that hard way.
Um, not sure raising up off the ground would do much. But certainly wouldn't hurt to see if is easier to observe the play.
I don't recall which way tightens the set screw. You will want to go an 1/8th turn and see if that helps. I would mark the nut and cap so you know exactly where you started...
@Mudsport96 I hear ya. Yeah not worth the effort if you don't have a LQ9 core, although the LQ9 cores aren't much harder to find than the LQ4. I believe the bottom end is all the same for the 6.0L and the 5.3 only thing is casting on block and heads. The heads are a bit bigger, as well as the...
Was a serious consideration. That combination with the 5.3L heads is common, and a inexpensive way to built great torque from what I've heard. I'd have loved to do it but limited to what fuel I can use.
I'm a fan of the full float rods, I don't believe LQ4 has them. If you can get a deal on a...
I have tens (hundreds?) of hours of video notes for my entire rebuild. I'm rebuilding from painting to rebuilding the transmission. I complied most recent ones with my rocker arm issues below:
Rocker arm swap
Part 1 checking valve lash in engine bay
Part 2 trunnion rebuilds versus...
I'm getting some questions on my engine build / swap. It's a BEAST love the motor!
Goals: Swap the 5.3L for a 6.0L without sacrificing too much if any efficiency. Optimize for part throttle response, low end torque. I mainly road trip and explore rough forest service roads in South West...
I haven't worked on it in a couple months. I had to rebuild all my rocker arms and re-spec pushrods, etc. Have a wild engine / top end and it wore out after 12,000 miles.
I need to get back at it though.
Progress so far...
- Got a Bluetooth board working which sinks audio from a bluetooth...
I checked on the case... The aluminum front half by above the pulley. Good to know they get hot like that. Was just shocked, I'm over thinking things. I'm simply amazed, some of these parts are still original on my truck at 255,000 miles. GM did a AWESOME job of sourcing quality parts to build...
This is kind of off the wall. My alternator performs perfectly, however, it's old and I'm always concerned about it...
I JUST finished upgrading to Yella Terra shaft roller rockers. I fired the engine up and was listening to the lifters with a mechanic's stethoscope when I touched the...
Pretty sure it's NOT this unless you just swapped your transmission but there's an anti clunk spring in the transmission. I don't know that it hurts anything but is super annoying if they left it out or it broke.
Another thing, try to recreate by jumping on rear bumper (suspension).
Check...
Mind did that too. It was the blend door actuator as previously mentioned. When I selected a different position it would stop. I had to replace the actuator in the end.
Yes that is normal for the driver side. The snap ring stays in the housing. Then when you slide the half shaft back in it should clip in place / catch the snap ring. I probably have some pictures...
My camera didn't focus well, I believe that it towards rear of bore. If it's not there / fell...
I would not disable "limp mode". It's either falsely tripping OR getting invoked for an underlying issue that could damage the vehicle.
Sounds like you got your lean issue straightened out. I was going to say grounds as well. You could also have a fault in the harness for the throttle cable...
