Fluid pic looks good. That's reassuring. Not to say there's nothing in bottom of pan, but at least you aren't seeing clutch material in the fluid.
#5 Sounds like you have an aftermarket locker. I always suspect other people's work. Depending on failure mode it could create symptoms you are...
What I understand... Engine revs, truck doesn't move. Need a few more details. I know you lifted up the rear end but not for sure exactly what all you tested there...
Here's a few questions.
1. Check to see if your shifter linkage is working. Place your cell phone camera on record on ground...
I'm not familiar with the 2wd frame / suspension. However, that's a sway bar end link. You'll want to order a new one. Not sure if it's factory as your truck looks lowered??? Either way it's a piece of cake to replace so long as you get the right part. It would make a huge racket but wouldn't...
Not sure if I'd want to use Dynamat or similar style insulation on areas outside the cabin. I think that stuff is designed for use inside the cabin where moisture and elements are less of a concern. If just the plastic fender liners, might be okay to try. But on metal, I'd be reluctant. You...
I'm unsure what that is from your picture...
Can you get a better of the broken linkage. That doesn't look familar to me. What's it next to? Perhaps get a picture showing more of the stuff around it.
What year make and model is your vehicle? If one in photo looks like a lowered GMT800 Tahoe...
Haha thanks!
Anybody know where to buy a tool that fits the test port on the evap system (under hood by fuel rail)
Also I assume the tank should hold pressure till vent or purge is opened?
Turns out I'm "stupid". I forgot I rebuilt the purge fitting on canister. When I did that I made it larger so as to be able to glue a nipple over the top of the old one. One of the VERY few times my junkyard lute (personal junk pile) came in handy. Turns out I had another set of tank vapor lines...
Back to messing with this cheap junk fuel and evap line stuff from GM. Saga continues... I bought a new evap canister. Mine isn't doing anything, garage just smells like fumes when I park it. I assume cause carbon is spent up after 23 years.
Turns out the tank and purge fittings on my current...
Material worn of is minimal. Less than even rounding error would be. Unless you have a badly worn transfer case in which case a visual inspection would show burnt clutches, cooked steels, and other problems. I tore down a second txcase to rebuild and had issues which precluded me from using the...
You may have to remove steering wheel, instrument bezel molding, and knee bulster to get wheel molding off without ripping it. It sounds like a lot but isn't too hard. It will be the orange wire. I have had it break a few times. Bought my own wheel puller as it kept having to fix it.
Honestly, I'm thinking I'll pass on the taking fuel system apart to measure flow. Not even sure I have that spec on the pump. Really mainly looking for adjustable regulator at this point in time so I can set the pressure to what it needs to be KOEO. Then if pump doesn't keep up I will do a...
@NickTransmissions I learned that about the stator support shaft the hard way! I bought wrong one when I rebuilt my pump. Thankfully caught it before I finished / installed the build. I had wondered if it would work anyways...
I think I just need to find an adjustable regulator that is a direct fit for factory rail. Having some trouble locating one.
After that, if pump cannot keep up, I'll order a higher volume one... Perhaps from AEM.
Have yet to get it resolved. Got really busy, starting a new business. Back to topic at hand.
A friend used to build these trucks for GM in Detroit. He has what I'm considering the solution but I cannot find a good part to easily do this w/o modifying the fuel system.
He said to get an...
@squeeler642 thanks! I almost snagged a used harness... Ultimately I need to buy a harness like you showed there or just make my own. They're really cheap if you have a F-Body or Corvette. However, the truck ones are quite expensive. I may just buy an F-Body one and change out what I need to for...
Was able to snag a factory head unit off eBay. Now I need the harness coming off backside of the head unit so I can hook-up on my bench. Then I can probe / figure out how the signals work to control external deck tape / CD changer. I'll utilitze those signals to control the BT audio source...
Should be fine. There were some different input shafts but I think they all switched to same shaft after like 1999 / 2000 (around time switching from 5.7 SBC to 5.3 SBC). I also presume both are a 4L60E.
Some unsolicited tips: I'd do a few upgrades in the process though if you have it out...
Anybody who knows detailed pinouts for radio harness on GMT800 series head unit please share...
I need to start figuring out where to tie into the harness so I can get the following signals:
Remote control line ~ I assume there's a signal wire for remote control of CD changer option if there...
