1. Brake rotors taken from 2005 Escalade: 2 front + 2 rear. Surface rust present, but the rotors are good, they were replaced cuz I upgraded the entire brake system - FREE
2.Passenger vent register:
I recently had to relocate my oil catch can. Initially I bolted it to a fuse box cover, like this:
It was OK, but once I had to reach some nut on the side of the engine, so I leaned on the fuse box and torn off the oil catch can:
I had to buy a new case and find a better place for the...

Try to take the seat out this time and do as I've done if u can accomodate that. Removing the seat is just 4 blots and 2 nuts, but u can wash the seatbelts in the sink with a very hot water, washing detergent, go with a brush and rinse it properly. I actually left it soak with the detergent for...
Whin a proper tool it shouldn't take longer than 1 hour per side, but without the tool this can be challenging. Check if ur local part store has a ball joint press tool available for rent. It'd save u a lot of headache and curse words
A project for this past weekend was to refurbish my passenger seat. I bought a new bottom leather cover ($80 + taxes off eBay). I also bought a GM seat repair kit to eliminate seat rocking back & forth: https://www.ebay.com/itm/291102602491. Tied up and wrapped all wires under the seat. Washed a...
Yeah, but ALL their pitman & idler arms at least for our trucks have the same type of "boot". Am I missing something?
PS. I actually ordered Moog for my truck when I was going to do the job, but after receiving, inspecting and seeing this type of things, I had to reorder GM OEM.
I actually was disapponted with Moog when I saw this type of boot on their steering components:
Any manufacturer that thinks this crap is an appropriate way to insulate a ball joint from outside environment does not deserve to be taken seriously.
I honestly never used radio in my last 2 cars :-)
But my plan is to modify a cellular antenna on top of the roof for this purpose. I can't remove it without leaving a hole in the roof, so why not use it as an FM antenna.
Replaced all 4 control arms last weekend. Since I am an allergic to aftermarket for the most part, went with GM OEM. Mine old ones had 180K miles on them and were factory parts, so if the new ones make another 180K, my investment will be justified. I do grease all zerk fittings with every oil...
Did antenna delete the other weekend.
The best approach would be to buy a brand new part from Escalade ESV GM #15287179 and call it a day. The problem is that the part has long been discontinued. There's some knuckle head on fleeBay that sells those USED for $90-$100. Call me an old fart and...
I'd go and tighten an adjustment screw on a gearbox. I couldn't see in the video if pitman arm is moving with the rotation of the input shaft, but it looks to me like that steering gear adjustment is the culprit.
There is an interesting story with the wipers. Initially one could fix them in the "UP" position, but GM started to receive waranty claims that the wiper arm scratches the paint on the hood, since it very close indeed. So, in their infinite wisdom, instead of reshaping the arm (like it is on...
