@baychef For a comprehensive conversation about your situation I would start a new post, juggling your post and the problem we already have at hand will be impossible.
@opfor2 On the drive side I just removed the steering half shaft between the firewall and steering rack and the fender liner, undo the lower motor mount bolts on both sides of the motor so that when you jack the motor up it can lift up freely and give you the most amount of working space
@MalcDogg If you have already started a thread about this I would recommend continuing on that thread instead of starting a new one or else I will have to ask a bunch of questions again LOL Can you link it here at least?
@Fless At this point I'm just going to move on, that battery warranty was the last reason I had to ever go to a dealership again.
I work in IT and I only learned to work on my vehicles myself because of shit like this, the service industry has been in a massive slump since COVID and you can...
Dealership tested the battery and the battery failed so I got a free battery under warranty but.. Charged me $25 fee to test the battery and a $25 labor fee for installation of the warranty battery.
They installed the battery backward in the battery tray so the cables are all over the place..
@iamdub What is FYP? And for some reason I thought he only had the auto level in the rear. If he has auto level in the front and hasn't adjusted the ride height sensors he has even more ride quality to gain
@iamdub Thank you, I knew I was missing something besides just the shock extension brackets. Those will fix the shocks from being overextended but now he will have to adjust the sensors to compensate for the shock extension brackets.
@13_Metallic are you set on keeping the auto level system?
@13_Metallic You call Rough Country on the phone and tell them the part numbers that are in the links that @iamdub posted and they will help you out. The only thing after that is you will need to source some grade 8 bolts, washers, and nuts.
Basically what the shock extenders do is make it so...
The VLOM connector will remain unplugged because the non-afm valley cover has no plug.
What you can do is lay the old AFM vlom in the engine bay and plug in the connector, that will allow you to drive the Tahoe to the shop to have it tuned. After that the connector will remain disconnected...
@dkad260 Can you post more videos of the sound? I want to hear it from inside the engine bay and from under the motor. When I go back and listen to your initial video I am having a hard time agreeing that the sound is coming from within the motor, sounds more like a spark plug wire arcing or...
@dkad260 At that point I would have gone all the way in and done a proper inspection of the lifters and cams. LS engines have always been prone to lifter failures even before the AFM system was introduced so you could have a pitted lifter elsewhere but you wouldn't know unless you pulled the...
@tooleyondeck I did a speed limit delete, raised idle RPMs, supposedly they adjusted the timing so I can get more power running higher octane fuel. I also had them make me a transmission tune but I never liked how it made the transmission feel so I haven’t run it very much.
@crownvic31 For the front suspension to work properly things need to be kept within a certain specification and when you add lift things will come out of spec and that's when you need supporting lift mods like control arms, lifted knuckles, lower control arm drop brackets, and such.
Post...
Well boys today was a tough one, wife called and said she broke down in the pickup with the kids. I go to hop in the Tahoe and Tahoe's too weak to start and of course the jumper cables were in the truck my wife was broke down in... luckily we have a 3rd car. thank ******* goodness.
The AC...
@blackelky If you are ordering the 81069 springs from amazon it would be cool if you also got the 81071 at the same time for physical comparison before you install them and then just return the 81071 to amazon.
