    PCV, or not to PCV?

@gmartin1215 Did you take more pictures of your Tahoe? Where can I see them?

    Purchased a deslugger

@iamdub I think to fix it the refrigerant would need to be sucked out and have that orifice tube filter thing might be gummed up if YouTube has any say in it.

    Vapor Lock!

If the fuel rail isn’t keeping pressure after the fuel pump stops running that might allow the fuel to reach a vapor state.

    Purchased a deslugger

I installed the deslugger. It certainly helps the problem I was having but I do notice the compressor cycling more often that ideal.

    P0300 code after replacing parts

@MalcDogg Sounds like could be using too long push rods. Sounds like a strange situation

    Vapor Lock!

@Hodgeee Another test you can do, drive it for a while and get it nice and hot and then bring it home and pop the hood and put a fan on it for 5 minutes to cool the top of the motor down and try and see if the problem persists.

    P0300 code after replacing parts

@MalcDogg Might be worth installing some of your old parts but a p0300 code is for a random misfire, it looks like your emission monitor for the o2 sensors isn't set yet so that could indicate a problem with the cats or O2 sensors. I would start with a compression test and then maybe install...

    Vapor Lock!

@Hodgeee I don’t think E85 is a cure all but it’s just a bit different than gasoline and I’m curious if your Tahoe behaves differently with it. I believe E85 has a higher evaporation temp than regular gas so in theory if vapor lock is occurring then E85 should react differently. When I search...

    P0300 code after replacing parts

@MalcDogg I think if it was the cats you would have an O2 sensor or cat efficiency code

    Vapor Lock!

@Hodgeee I think I was the one that said that I've never heard about vapor lock being an issues with these vehicles. I live in Redding, CA and when I compare the weather of my city to yours we have hotter days over here. I've had my Tahoe about 4 years and have driven it all around the western...

Here is the video from this morning, the sound wasn’t as loud as normally is

    Purchased a deslugger

I’ll get a video this morning of what’s happening. Now that I think about it this problem first came up after I did the AFM delete. I suspected that the harmonic balancer wasn’t lining up with the AC clutch 100% but not sure if that would cause this. The deslugger comes today so by the end of...

    Purchased a deslugger

@Trey Hardy The rear air will blow hot when set to hot but when you set it to cold it only blows ambient temperature air. I think refrigerant isn’t flowing to the rear because the AC lines under the rear or the Tahoe never get cold

    P0300 code after replacing parts

@MalcDogg Checking your compression might be a good place to start if you suspect the head isn’t installed properly

    Purchased a deslugger

@Doubeleive Going to run it until it breaks and then I’ll fix it. Would like to dig into why the rear AC isn’t working eventually

    Purchased a deslugger

@89Suburban No it doesn’t really make a vibration, it’s just a loud bang that you hear. Almost like a truck shifting into reverse with a really loose ujoint. About 3 seconds into a cold start if the AC is on it will make the sound, other than that it doesn’t make the sound unless it’s been...

    Hail damage

That's insane, when our town had hail damage (not common) a few different dent repair shops moved into town and were busting out dents left and right. I was able to get my entire car sorted out for $500 insurance deductible but your dents are HUGE. Best of luck man, I know I would drive the...

    Loving my E85 right now

First tank of E85 I went 214 miles using 19.01 gallons which is about 11.2mpg. Pretty good considering my “average MPG” on the cluster was 13.7mpg.

    Purchased a deslugger

@Geotrash What exactly is it doing that you don’t like? I didn’t think it would be noticeable. I think this problem started for me when I moved into a new place where the driveway has the front of the Tahoe facing downhill making the problem worse.

    Purchased a deslugger

Hey guys, recently I’ve been having this problem where the AC compressor makes a loud bang when it engages during a cold start. After some research I believe it’s “slugging” so I purchased the deslugger and it should be here in a couple days. I will update with how it goes. I don’t have a...

@07BlackLTZs No it's supposed to be unplugged after AFM delete. Normal.

    PCV, or not to PCV?

@gmartin1215 I think another benifit of the catch can is it will give you an idea if you are burning oil. If your oil is low and the catch can only has a little oil in it... well the oil is going somewhere

    180K miles - do O2 sensors?

Is it worth doing just O2 sensors or should the cats be done also?
