I just changed my oil last night at the garage. I bought 10 oil filters when i first bought the truck for my stash. PF66 AC Delco. A friend bought a used 2020 3.0 and came over a few weeks ago and we changed his oil using one of my filters from 2021. Deal was just get me an AC Delco replacement...- Seamus

Changing flat tire, lug nut removal?
^^^^ LOL I was taken back too!! We just renewed reluctantly! I have waited 3-4 hours for AAA!!! I'd never waste my time waiting unless I was really stuck...anything I can muster will be done avoiding that wait. Mainly keep it for the wife in case i am out of town.- Seamus

Diesel Cap
No it does not. I am using it for over 2 years not one issue. I also put green "diesel only" sticker inside my fuel door. I figure I like keeping it clean, but its also a reminder to use diesel. It is cheap insurance. I am driving it 99% of the time but occasionally my wife and I switch trucks...- Seamus

How much trust do you have in the 3.0?
Well we are back from our 2800 mile road trip. Truck is even more impressive to me now. At first when we left Florida to NY I was focused on trying to get the great fuel mileage I see many get. 2015 Yukon Denali
I owned a 2015 and 2017 Yukon Denali XL. The 2015 was horrible Dealer made good on a 2017 at cost to keep me as a customer. I had the 8 speed in both. I loved the 8 speed and it was great for towing and drivability. I had the 6 speed in my 2013 and hated it. Bogged down and always downshifting...- Seamus

18 LT to 18 Denali
18-20 gets you the 10 speed in the Denali. BIG upgrade. The 6.2 is not only faster it gets better fuel mileage. Big win, great decision. Yes the L86 can be tuned. 1st time replacing 10 speed fluid & filter
Thanks! Did you do the half torque or just a good snug?/ I already did the wifes 2018 escalade and it went really well. But now I am about to do my '21 Sierra. I have the fluid pump and all the filter and fluid...just concerned something is different regarding the bolts?- Seamus

Did you use new filter bolts??? Read they are not reusable. One time use torque then specific degree turn. I bought the AC Delco filter--no bolts! So i called my dealer and they had none. He checked other dealers none around. I asked well when a customer comes in today for a trans filter and...- Seamus

6.2 gas vs. 3.0 Duramax, which one to buy?
Diesel maintenance? 7 quarts of oil and a filter. Fuel filter about once a year...25 bucks on rock auto -10 minutes to change. Thats it. Bulletproof drivetrain, average 25 mpg all day.- Seamus

Strange start after battery died during oil change, video included
I was told that if the hood is not completely closed the truck does not fully go to sleep, meaning its drawing more keeping all the modules awake. So if the battery was marginal this could be what caused it to run down. A mechanic friend told me that after seeing my truck with a battery tender...- Seamus

Dead again…
The modern cars go nuts with a weak battery. Have experienced this myself twice. A loose battery to starter connection is another common issue. Then grounds being loose and arching. Bottom line a battery or loose connection on any battery wire or ground will wreak havoc. All an easy fix if they...- Seamus

How much trust do you have in the 3.0?
2021 Sierra Denali CC w/ 25K on it. Second day of ownership had a light, and it needed a coolant hose routed differently as it did not flow correctly?? Took 1 hour. Not one issue, since then. Been bulletproof, lots of towing also. Taking it on road trip up north end of the month 2600 miles...- Seamus

Dead on side of road
Bad battery. Bad alternator. Loose connection at starter. Loose terminals. Ground. These new vehicles go nuts on a bad battery or bad connection. Keep us updated.- Seamus

6.2L or Duramax reliability
I am about the same. I use very little DEF under normal driving. I bought 10- 2.5 jugs a year ago and never need DEF. It goes to half right around my 5K oil change. Towing I use plenty. 1-2 jugs in 1600 miles of towing to Va.. I am doing about 12K a year and adding DEF 1-3 times of a 2.5 gallon jug.- Seamus

2023 Yukon/Oil filter and oil.
Mechanics choice and what I use is always AC delco and mostly Wix...which is Napa silver or gold. Mobil 1 bought at Walmart for best price. Cheap, easliy found and good insurance.- Seamus

The fuse worked on many prior generation trucks. Not this one. They have gotten quite advanced and several things are tied into that module apparently. I am friends with a GM tech who pulled the whole circuit up and he tells me it cant be done without issues. Yet, there is a video on you tube...- Seamus
