Wow! Ingenuity at its best. Reminds me that years ago I fabricated an aluminum gutter into a rocker panel for a Peugot (French-made back then) that had a damaged rocker and no parts were available in the US.- SRQYukon

Thanks for the recommendation. I check them out again. I had not considered them because of a bad experience with collision repair on my wife's caddy. The car was never right after that. But that was 20 years ago. I'm sure they have none of the same staff. Probably not even the same ownership. -

I'm guessing this is a long shot, some vehicles (not sure about yours) have a compressor speed sensor that shuts down the A/C if the pulley is turning too slowly and monitors the speed to auto-adjust the blower speed. Possibly, if the '06 has one, it could be bad. I know we have one my wife's... -
