I use a water filter pitcher and use Nalgene bottles with the narrow mouth. Narrow mouth is much easier to drink from without spilling or looking ridiculous, lol.
I also use the smaller 16oz a lot as well. A lot of times I just don't need a big ass jug of water.
Did the rear sway bar bushings and link bushings. Energy Suspension - 35214R.
Not bad, needed a vice to press the new bushings into the links.
Ride quality is surprisingly better. Was not expecting that big of an improvement! My factory bushings didn't look bad at all. Might do the fronts here...
Sweet thank you for the info!
Awesome thanks! And thanks for the other replies guys.
Have a couple other questions if yall don't mind.
I haven't been able to get in touch ScottyBoy about the relay harnesses he sells. Has anyone heard from him lately? Anyone know of an alternative harness...
Ok so I saw this super cheap brand new electric fan for my 2004 Tahoe on Amazon WITH free shipping for 35 bucks totall.....I figured it was worth the gamble. It just came in. I don't see any part numbers, brand or anything. Would y'all mind looking at the pics to confirm if this fan will fit???
Finally got around to changing my knock sensors. Had both wires tied to the one good sensor since October when I bought the rig. Felt good to clean up the engine valley as well. Hoping to do sway bar bushing and links tomorrow.
Oh and I also installed my 1.25 hub centric spacers as well...
What brand did you go with? I'm replacing mine this weekend if I can possibly next. Check valve went out in it, have to prime to start. I picked up a Delphi for 195.
A really cool YT channel I watch - Precision Transmissions - this guy knows his stuff with trans, lots of videos on tearing down 4l60e trans. Unfortunately they hardly do build videos but he goes over a lot of the updates they do and issues when he tears them down.....anyway he always updates...
Wish I would have purchased that one.....wanting to go back in and shim my new 1-2 accumulator. Replaced it with the aluminum one that has a longer shank but I'd like to shim to bottom put even quicker. You think I could reuse my cork gasket that hasn't been on that long?
I was going to do dawn a fee times then 90% iso alcohol...but I will prob read the instructions first. Definitely going to wear gloves, I don't know what that ceracoat stuff is but if it's as tough as they say I don't want it on my skin.
I try not to make eye contact with the row of waxes and detailing products as I walk by that section of my garage.
But with that said my ceracote plastic wipes should be here Wednesday.
Nice! I picked up an 04 z71 back in October with only 115k on it for 7k. Best of all that was actually a little less than the equity I had in my 2018 Colorado z71. The dealer actually cut me a check, lol. That's how crazy used trucks have been going for.
Anyways love my Tahoe and working on...
I know how you feel. A month after swapping the engine in my 2008 Mustang Bullitt I happily sold it. I was so pissed off at how Ford built the car and engine I never wanted to work on that vehicle again. It was a nightmare. My 04 Tahoe is a dream to work on compared to that Mustang.
Waterpump sprung a leak on Wednesday, pretty sure it's the original. 127k miles not bad. Might have been just the gasket but I replaced the whole thing. Once I got in there some of the pullies didn't feel too good. Did those as well. Then I spun the alternator over and the bearing felt really...
Congrats!
I sold my 18 Colorado z71 for crazy money and picked up a 04 z71 Tahoe with 110k miles for a great price. Love the Tahoe, love not having a car note either. I've worked on it a bit with small issues. They are easy to work on.
Where did u get the seat?
Good luck - went through your 6.2 build thread. Nice work and good luck on solving the issue. I know how you feel on certain sounds like you are experiencing. Drives me nuts.
I went through something similar when dropping a new motor in my 08 Bullitt back in 2018. Glad I did it, proud of it...
This is correct - the regulator did not fix the problem. Going to have to replace the FP! I have been just been priming the pump a two times then cranking. Getting tired of doing that though.
