Oil pressure is about 35 cruising at 70. I'm going to not put synthetic oil this oil change. I'm convinced it's sludge in there plugging it up after doing some reading. Changing a lifter means the heads have to come off. I just don't think it's worth the investment.
It starts ticking when cruising on the highway. It comes and goes. Any tricks? In wanting to do a 6.0 swap but I was hoping to get that done in spring.
I know I'm getting Bilstein 5100. What I don't know is the length. I don't want to lift the rear any. It's a z71 burb. I am going to order eBay keys to level the front out. Should I add those jounce things too? I imagine I'll need 1.5 minimum in the front to level it. Also when if at all should...
Thanks guys. The more I look at it the more I don't think I want to lift it even an inch with this size tire. These tires will last 45k miles probably and I don't want it to look goofy for that long. I'll probably buy new shocks again and then the spacers when I buy new tires. Ive decided I'll...
I took the plunge and did it and glad I did! I wasn't sure they style would match the year. I think it turned out great! Cosmetically next will be DEPO projectors and matching bumper lights and new z71 emblems. Mechanically it's going to the shop Friday for a quote on replacing all front end...
I'm not concerned with money as much as quality of ride.
I installed some poly ones on my fox body back in 2002 and it was harsh after. That could be because I didn't understand the importance of shocks and the poly magnified how bad they were...
the time has come and I'm ready to redo my suspension and tires etc. who has used the poly bushing kit? I know it will increase harshness and road noise but by how much? Do you feel as if it was worth it?
Can someone photoshop the z71 midnight edition wheels on to my suburban. I'm having a real dilemma right now. I need tires soon and I'm not sure I want to stay with the snowflakes and have them powdercoated gloss black and buy tires OR buy the midnight edition black wheels with the good year...
Checked those two grounds and they have excellent continuity to the negative battery terminal. I also checked the voltages to ground for while the vehicle was running and as I adjusted the temp and mode the voltages remained the same within .01. I also checked the voltage of the mode control to...
On my way home from church. I appreciate your help greatly. I'm an electrician by trade so this isn't completely foreign to me but a bit out of my realm. I'll get after as soon as I get home.
That's what I thought. To ironic for them all to fail nearly simultaneously. I checked all the wires from the mode actuator to the control module. They were all good. It was getting dark and I was frustrated so I went inside and mixed a Moscow Mule and started this thread. I saved those pics and...
Don't mind at all. When I bought this burb the a/c didn't blow cold. Found the leak and it turned out to be the evaporator core. Pulled the entire dash out and replaced it. The recirc stopped working as soon as I got it back together. I charged the a/c and the rest worked for a week or so. Then...
I've replaced the mode door actuator and drivers side temp blend door. Did the recalibration procedure and nothing changed. I have the other two actuators for the recirc and passenger temp blend but I'm not putting them in until I know they're bad.
Anyone in the Knoxville area have Silverado...
Anyone have the part numbers for all four? I keep getting different ones when I look them up on the Dorman website. Im replacing all four because all four went out nearly simultaneously.
I hear you on the lighting. It definitely needs to illuminate the ditches. I drive back country roads in the late hours myself and they would definitely pay. My brother has hit 6 deer. Me none. lucky is my guess.
lol yeah I noticed that. It's easy fix. A billet one would look great
