    I only disconnected the 2 pin connector on the alternator. Maybe disconnecting both is the trick.....

    I was thinking maybe a scope might be neccessary. I have had a total of four different alternator's on the truck so I do think that's it. My Yukon is pretty rusty underneath including the engine block so I'm wondering if somehow that's connected to the issue.

    It's constant and gets worse with increasing RPM's..Its a thousand times better after cleaning the corrosion and replacing battery cables but still noticeable. Goes away completely when disconnecting the alternator by removing the two pin plug on the back and running off of the battery.

    I had to plug it back in this morning. Voltage dropped below 12 volts when I started it up according to the dash gauge. The engine definitely idles differently when the plug is plugged in. At least we have something to chase now.

    I was wondering where do the wires from the little connector on the back of the alternator go? Are they definitely a component of the RVC system?

    OK, Bought a 07 with a couple problems today.

    Don't forget about the o- ring on the oil pickup tube in the oil pan. Notorious for going bad and causing low oil pressure. As far as I know oil pumps rarely fail.

    Open the passenger door and on the side of the dash there is a pull panel just like the one over the fuse box on the drivers side. Behind that panel is a junction box for all sorts of things. I found corrosion on the bottom connector which is battery and ground.

    Just make sure you order the correct one for you year. GM used multiple different designs, my 08 Yukon and 10 Suburban have two different setups and neither look like what you have.

    Looks like it comes with the battery cable. #22790285. Need to verify with your trucks options though. They're probably plentiful in junkyard.
