Got a proper look at the thing
ugh... I don't think there's a way to get at it without pulling the dash
Excuse me while I complain about it for a week before actually doing anything
Oh lovely
I hate dash work
Doable without the dash? Or nah?
Found the entry in alldata. Instructions aren't that helpful. It's basically... "Take it out. Then put it back"
Yeah, mine's done. Need to replace the thing
Issue is I can't seem to find any info on it. Where it is, how to get to it, etc. Even alldata shows no results for "recirculation" or "blend door."
So like... Where is it? And what's the best way to get to it?
Clarification: I don't have a FB, and I have any/all associated services with facebook blocked at my router. I can't watch it.
the tl;dr of it is they touched my ****** and I won't interact with them ever again. A hard line has been drawn
agree
Op, I implore you.... Do NOT use a compression fitting
Those things are for like... 3 digit pressures. Not 4 digits that your brakes are under.
Like VietVet said, you had to union 2 lines, a double flare would be preferable. Interference mechanical fit, not just friction.
But like...
I run similar in mine
Amsoil 75w140 in the diffs, with a slight overfill to make up for slower drainback on the thicker fluid (~10mm over stock. That nets out to the top of the fill port on the front, and bottom of the fill port on the rear. No dipstick method). Can argue semantics on it, but...
It really is
Had a chat with outsourced customer service yesterday. Like.... No, sorry, I'm not giving out PII to some unknown entity.
Ain't that step 1 on what literally everyone says to avoid scams or info leaks or anything else?
(This was something super minor but now my need to be petty...
If you need to park it for cooling, flip the a/c on
That will kick your efans on and pull air through the radiator. Else they will only activate based on coolant temp. Which flows through the radiator, and across the transmission's radiator-located heat-exchanger.
Hot coolant through rad...
While I have no input on the 80
I do have a couple theories on failure modes on the 60s. Nothing I can prove, but, observations of failures and maintenance habits from reading pages of threads
- Old fluid: Gets acidic. Acid = high affinity to give hydrogen atoms up. Or to phrase it...
Yeah dude.... This one's a bad idea. Kinda regardless of reason.
Paperwork issues can be resolved through proper channels.
That said, re-riveting the tag on the windshield ain't it.
The VIN is also stored on the ecu, and on other places around the vehicle.
I'm not one to go jumping on laws...
All things worth checking
Got a chance to watch the video with some better speakers.
Honestly, sounds almost like some gnarly piston slap to me.
Real easy way to isolate if it's rod knock vs. anything else: Go to the parts store, grab the cheapest 20w50 they have and throw that in there for...
Yup
Threw me for a loop shortly after I got my rig.
Sounds like a ticking lifter at idle. Roughly the proper cadence. When revved, accessory noise drowns it out. Then it 'comes back' when idle is resumed.
I'm going to come at this from a slightly different angle
Could you verify that the sound isn't the evap purge solenoid?
Unplug the electrical connector from this thing. It's normal for it to sound like a ticking lifter.
Ding ding
It's just there to direct overflow in the event of an overheat/overfill. Drain it safely to ground rather than risking it splashing onto a hot exhaust mainfold
Brain dumping:
If I name off a part you've already replaced, I read your post. But.... You've replaced a lot of things and it's still being funny. And I don't quite hold a high degree of trust in new parts any more. Always verify.
- Fuel pump or fuel pump controller, depending on your year...
Ding ding
Pulled it out, pinned it. I could shake it and it would get upset
New one in, mischief solved
Love you guys!
Just in time for the rain to show up
Oops I fat fingered my phone and hit post instead of new line
Only happens in motion, at speed. Seems to be aggravated by certain bumps / leans in the road, though I've not been able to put together a pattern.
