Need a favor and a tape measure

What's the width measurements between the wheel wells in the trunk on these rigs, and diagonal size between floor-right and roof-left corner? I lost my tape measure and need to sort if something will fit

What size nut for master cylinder port block off

Good idea! I'll also say to address stuff in the thread: This is a valid test for the m/c. I'll also add for OP: Once you get the lines off, get a m/c bleed kit and bleed the master before you test it. If air is present, it'll skew your tests. OP: Mind sharing more info on what's going on...

    Lug Wrench recommendations?

I have one that's similar to the gorilla unit. Works great! https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/dorman-autograde/tools---equipment/tire---wheel-tools/lug-wrench/d7f168ccce9b/dorman-autograde-14-inch-lug-wrench-drive/dag0/711900/v/a/2293/automotive-suv-2003-jeep-liberty?pos=1 Can vouch the...

Will I have to worry about an ABS bleed if I replace the rear brake line?

You talking about replacing the line that secures to the ABS unit itself? If you're quick about it, probably not. Keep the master full, gravity will provide some positive pressure in there. do NOT let it run dry. Let it make a mess. Realistically.... Air in there isn't a big deal. If you...

Valley pan gasket replacement -- what else proactively?

Knock sensor gaskets. The internal ones, not the water-diaphragm. When I did mine, it wasn't included with the valley pan kit. Oil pressure sending unit honestly isn't needed - can get to it easily without removing the intake. Though I see you've done it. Can get to the camshaft position...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

lol this works too well car will throw a p0116 cause it thinks there's no way the coolant can be at that temp

Late Game Transmission Fluid Change Rumors or Fact?

The whole high mileage thing is... Not really the whole issue. If it smells burnt, or has visible floating particulates - don't touch it. Start saving for a new trans. Burnt means sad clutches. Floating particulates are sad clutches. If its dirty but otherwise serviceable, then go nuts.

    Radiator replacement

for what it's worth: the trans passthrough for the radiator is on the 'cool side' It basically provides thermal resistance. If it's cold, it'll add heat. If it's hot, it'll take heat away. helps to keep it in a narrower operating temp. If you live somewhere that gets cold, bypassing this...

massive oil leak in wheel well??

Are you actually adding 2 quarts a day? or is that phrasing to indicate that there's oil everywhere? All 4 wheel wells are covered in oil? Are the inside of the wheels covered in oil?

In a real pickle with fuel pump issues. Advice appreciated!!

nope, just a float in the pan for oil level To confirm things with OP: Fuel pump has power and ground, however there's a voltage drop when the fuel pump turns on, and the unit fails to function?

Yukon stored for 10 years. How to bring back to life?

I'd like to clarify evac/recharge doesn't mean dump to atmosphere. There are machines that retrieve the refrigerant

Yukon stored for 10 years. How to bring back to life?

I'm going to be that guy for a sec Please don't arbitrarily top it off Refrigerant in the system is a mix of liquid and gas, the pressures of which are very temperature dependent The boiling point might be 40psi at 45 degrees. If it's 90 degrees out, that changes to 105psi An under-charged...

Yukon stored for 10 years. How to bring back to life?

Interstices a/c will lose just a bit per year through the seals, even though there's no leak. Sort of like how a balloon will deflate If it's 22 years old, an evac/recharge will validate the seals and ensure that it's at a proper fill

Yukon stored for 10 years. How to bring back to life?

You're definitely correct on draining the gas. Probably siphon tbh. If there's any solidified / preciptated schmoo, no point in having it go through the fuel pump. If you feel comfortable doing so, pulling the fuel tank down would probably be the easiest. Could also replace the fuel filter. '01...

What grease should be used for grease zerks?

Amsoil polymeric chassis grease, #2 IMO, ball joints should get something with moly in it. Low speed, high load, is a perfect use case for this stuff. Also IMO, any grease is better than no grease. A dry joint will fail very quickly. I wouldn't get too hung up on it - just grease regularly and...

What should I sell Her For ??

'Round these parts, it would be a ~5k rig Unfortunately, the aftermarket addons don't do anything for resale. In some ways, it can detract from it. And of course, there's the concern over rust on an older vehicle The ones that really sell high / keep value are 05-06, especially suburbans

Not the Tahoe, but need to rant.

People like that give me a chuckle So much effort for the mechanic / roadside flat But if anyone wants the wheels, a twist socket would take them off just as easily as a normal socket on a normal lug I've taken off enough of those things when the owner has lost the key... To know that they...

Not the Tahoe, but need to rant.

I'm getting flash backs to the time the local tire shop used the wrong sized socket and rounded off ALL TWENTY FOUR of my lug nuts AND didn't set up the tire machine properly and ruined one of my wheels.
