For many years cars have had Knock sensors, which prevent any issue using a lower octane gas where premium was recomended. I use Regular in my Lexus sedan and my V12 BMW with no issues that I'm aware of.
GM tried this in the early 70's at least with the Oldsmobile. It never workedr and dealers would make the change to disable it and keeping it running on all 8 cyls. Remember at this same time GM produced Gas V8's running on Diesel fuel another disaster that never worked. Time for GM to learn...
Hundreds of Car jacking incients have been prevented when the vehicle had a Stick shift manual transmission. Would it be nice if they still offered it as an option, even an expensive one since in my opinion would be peanuts when buying a new GMC Denali for $85k, don't you think?
Enjoy and be sure to sell/trade up before the Air suspension shocks need replacing. They cost $8k for 4 shocks plus labor to install at today's prices. Enjoy that cool ride. :-}
Might try a new actuator they are Cheap and simple 10 min. install. I put new one in my 1996 GMC 5.7L 4WD pickup, and it worked perfect. Just a guess on my part. If it does not fix it, return to amazon for refund.
I also think you found a good one. Everybody should know that Police Aucions that are acutioning off Police vehicles, are not the same as the junk you find at commercial auctions where dealers are dumping their junk vehicles
I would suggest maybe someone does not like you? Did you have any heated disagreements with someone lately? More than likely someone poured something into your tank wanting to get back at you for something? Especially as noted already, newer vehicles cannot be siphoned. Jog your memory and...
Does anybody know why all this stuff does NOT happen to GM pickups from the 90's? I have a 1996 Sierra that never had any of this stuff changed, and after all these years zero oil leaks, and original valve cover gaskets as well? 4.8L v8. Florida truck all it's life.
FYI, Every Lexus and Toyota have a slot on console near shifter where you can put a small screw driver in push down and shifter lever is released. I'm sure GM Must have something similar? The park Lock is a $35 item located near the top of the brake peddle lever. Its electric unplugs with a...
Diesel fuel price has not been close to Gas in the past 20+ years. In the 60's it was half the price of gas? As far as dependability, Quality gas V8 engines can go 300,000 miles. Most old (1990's) GM pickups and SUV's have 250k+ miles and still running fine.
