Have you already chosen a business that will perform the trans service? I wanted to add that if you have the maintenance performed @ GM dealer/service dept, you can ask to have a diagnostic run on the OBD to determine if any fault codes exist for the engine or transmission.
Is the 'check...
AWD cannot be turned on & off. The 4 wheels are being driven at all times.
The traction control is associated entirely with the vehicle braking (& in some cases suspension) system, and not the driveline. When TC is turned off, the system shuts down a percentage of the braking effort used to...
Don't forget to replace the PCV valve and even the oil pressure sensor if the gauge is on the fritz. Worth mentioning since you have to practically reach over this stuff when you are replacing the ignition components.
the heaviest oil you can find. stave off the inevitable carnage
I say 'inevitable'
could go for another 20-years if you don't beat on it, assuming you refresh the oil annually
A solenoid?!?! hate to tell you but there is no solenoid in there. that would be waaay too easy. there is a motor on the outside of it but everything inside is mechanized like shafts/gears/chain.
before you drain the oil, remove the filler plug and get a reading on the current fill-level. when...
update: after flushing the brake lines out last night, the driving manners of this truck have changed quite a bit. The commute to work this morning gave me the opportunity to put it through most scenario but just the handling and drivability improved so much, the braking was an added bonus; I...

looks like it takes standard nut & bolt but I have no idea what this has done to the alignment specs. Somebody will have more info about that but you can find out through a web search how all of that works.
Maybe...
at the very least, you need to replace the 2 output seals, properly examine the output bearings, and give everything else a good once-over. you will need to replace the transmission output seal for sure.
you only need the finest circlip/snap ring pliers that you can buy. there is a stout clip...
the better equipped diagnostic tools have a function that pulses the ABS pump. But you don't need that for everyday caliper replacement or BF refresh. I've heard of people doing the same thing by jumping the ABS relay with a paperclip or wire when in a jamb.
the real method to gravity purge is...
If the transfer case is on the ground, you want to open it and swap in the upgraded oil pump plate. Do a Google search and check into the number of casualties resulting from that broken oil pump plate and see if that doesn't change your mind. its called "pump rub" in most circles and using that...
@M1Gunner
I bought this truck last summer; brakes and coolant are the only things I have left to service. it has new pad/rotors all the way around at this point. This brake fluid appears to be the original fill.
Not only have i read different testimonials, but I've a couple of mechanic buddies...
I can't see what kind of truck you have but here is 2003 Yukon
Just renavigate to your spec M/Y at the top, should be all the same parts you see here.
Delco pro inner tre 45a1311
Delco pro outer tre 45a0785...
@Galante
I can't know for sure if the trash originated within the MC resi' or if it backflushed, or if b/f is even possible. The shear quantity of particles really gives me pause. I've never seen this level of saturation. I won't be surprised if the brakes malfunction tomorrow.
I just need...
@Malibu907
I saw a video clip last year that included the same noise, I think same truck. he had all 4 wheels off the ground and it came from the transfer case. He called the sound "gravel tumbling" or something. Drain the case & see what comes out. Here it is::
Did you ever put the transfer...
You know! MityVac.
that debris is either the MC seals degrading or even worse, it's backflush from mashing the caliper Pistons full open installing new brake pads. They say if you are smart, crack the bleeder when you manually open the calipers. It's hard to fix stupid.
I went to flush the brake lines and upon extracting the contents of the reservoir, massive amounts of debris was being cycled out with the orig fill B/F. Naturally, I continued adding new BF & extracting to continue removing the contaminants but I never reached a point where I was comfortable...
Get the wheels re-aligned again after crawling under there and examining the steering linkage for excess/unnecessary movement. If you had an alignment done recently, the charge should be covered but confer with management. If there is evidence of abnormal tire wear, the truck def has an...
I saw somewhere that the Cognito braces hit the frame on full or close-to-full turn lockout
Maybe too late for "before pics" of your original install but if you can at least post pics of your final assembly it will surely help others in the future.
I made a mistake: you are talking about...
@Atrus
Cranking the front end level does wonders for the overall appearance and actually look '4x4'
My only suggestion is replace the factory torsion bar keys with the modified version everybody sells. The level keys are advertised as that or something like "0-3 inches lift"
Moog & Delco sell...
Is the reservoir currently filled to the specified mark and have you been monitoring said level for fluctuation?
Of the 2 pics you posted, I used the top/first product which worked for a faulty head gasket. It may not work for structural failures in the casting though.
You still need to verify...
refrigerant is the air-conditioning agent. antifreeze or coolant is the substance used in the radiator and engine.
what did you do, cut the engine oil filter open in order to examine the contents?

What a F'n nightmare! Yaaaa I would have to put some policies into place after an ordeal like that. I can see you cussing under your breath on the 3rd time that same car comes pulling up to the bay door
Modify the front end to coil over suspension using the fab setup and parts provided by 'atomic' over at gmfullsize.com
There is a related topic and possibly contact info for that guy in the street suspension sub-forum.
You obviously posted in the wrong forum since you have an older model year...
