Both of those trucks would have a 4L60E. It's possible that a lower mileage unit would be the right one to run, but the duty each one saw would also be a factor; as in a 150k trans of crusing duty would probably be better than a 100k trans that performed regular towing duty.

Other members in here spoke for me about flowmaster's droning; they're notorious for it. Thanks guys. It's the chambered/baffled/wingplated design. They're good at muffling out the high pitch exhaust notes, but not great at preventing drone at sustained cruising RPM from about 1500 to 3000...
They're slick, but not factory. That's someone's custom handiwork. I'll be setting mine up that way eventually. There are a few threads on here about this setup.

The image shows the bracket as #8. The bolt #7 holds the bracket onto the inside of the rocker panel. I have those bolts; they're panhead style torx bolts about 1.5 inches long. #9 in the image is a little piece of plate material with two bolts welded through it...

Haha that's awesome. I like it for the throaty lumpy rumpity rhythm and deep tone, but also because it's not what you expect coming from the tail of a longroof grocery getter.
No torsion bar key in existence can preload the torsion bars (lift the front of the truck) any more than the OEM factory keys can. The OEM factory keys can be turned until the control arms hit the stops.
