As the title states... Looking to see if anyone has the stock 20" wheels either painted, powdered, or replica on a black tahoe.
I really would like to save money and not get another set of wheels, but for some reason I am worried that the actual design of the wheels will not look right in...
The tires are probably gonna kill the off the line, but will help fuel mileage on the other end (highway). You will only see it if you calibrate your speedo though as the tire will be spinning at a different rate and you odometer will be off as well. Adding tires is essentially turning that...
Was looking on craigslist and saw a couple sets of yukon tails for sale, one set was stock red, the other was the gm parts that are clear/greyish color. Is there anything I need to change wiring wise to swap these lights out, or is it plug and play?
I have not towed anything yet, but I just moved my family to VA. We loaded the Tahoe with alot of crap, 620lbs according to the weight ticket (military move). The truck looked nose high, but not a drastic sag in back. The air bag would definitely help as the 2" rough country that I have puts...
Rough Country pro: ease of install. a few wrenches and a hammer is all you need. but like said above, may not be able to run much bigger than stock tires.
Just did a tune up myself, AC delco wires and NGK plugs. good ol copper TR5's 1.79 a piece. and like said before, just get some good injector stuff to put in your tank and run some good premium fuel with the additives like shell or whatever.
Looks good, kinda crappy of the dealer to list a truck before it was technically available for sale. Would have been real bad if you did sign the papers and a day later they found out the previous owner couldn't afford the new deal. Would have been a cluster!
My rough country 2" leveling kit measured out almost even on all 4 corners, maybe 1/4" or less higher in the front. I like it, and can be installed with simple tools and a floor jack. Once it stops raining every 4 days I will clean it up and get some better pictures.
Cant even register it. no VIN number, you can buy an SS and build it to the same specs for about half the price. I like the car, just hate that they made it unattainable to 90% of the automotive enthusiasts.
My wife has been telling me that the last few times she has put gas in the tahoe that the pump will stop and when she pulls away the gas gauge does not show full. It looks as if the pump stops just short of full.
A few weeks ago, after the first time she had issues, when I had to fill it...
I think the quick lift gives you around 2" max, but not 100% on that. I think if you want to run 33s then the CCM kit would be enough.
Rough Country makes a 3.5" lift kit, but some people are on the fence with the design of the kit and the longevity of the suspension bushings and ball joints...
All you need is a jack, jack stand, a few metric sockets and wrenches, a hammer, an allen wrench (for ball joint tightening) a flat head screwdriver, and this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhQ_3U54hWw
We have two tahoes at my office (USCG). I would say the only thing to worry about is how the light bars and stuff were installed. we have one that was a professional install and everything works perfect, the other was a hack job and its having tons of electrical issues, everything from the dome...
Installed this kit yesterday. Took about 30 minutes per side. Leveled the truck out perfectly. 38" from ground to wheel well on all 4 corners. Not bad for $70. Would recommend this for anyone not looking to "lift" the truck. The CCM kit was on my list, but did not need to run 285 tires, just...
Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back. Previous owner installed it, bought the truck with it. It comes with a 50 series SUV series muffler. Has a good bit of rumble. I actually replaced the muffler with a Summit Racing 2 chamber ($25) thinking it would be drastically louder, but honestly I do...
Was able to get a awesome deal on a set of take-off chrome 20s off a 2012 Avalanche with less than 200 miles on them. So happy to get rid of the stock 17s and actually get some legit GM wheels not the aftermarket chrome replicas.
I went back and forth deciding how I wanted this thing to...
those dont look too bad at all. i have seen a few flat black wheels that look grey compared to the black paint. I guess i will have to see some wheels in person against the car before I make my purchase... which is hard because there are not many shops that carry the wheels in stock.
