Here’s a couple pics of the lights, the side lights are mounted a lil higher then the old bar it was actually pre-drilled for the lights just had to enlarge the holes to bolt them in cause I used a nut/bolts vs. screws, then I mounted the LED pods a lil lower then they were before so more light...
Thanks
Lol ya I had it on some of the Vic pages on FB and he messaged me Friday saying he’d come grab it he came from Garwood said it took 2:30 still less of a drive then when I went to Rochester to get it lol
Removed the old push bar and installed the new one over the weekend and switched all the lights over I’ll post a pic of that tomorrow same setup just a lil different, someone came up from NJ to buy the old push bar on Saturday.
Old push bar removed.
New push bar on.
When I got the Vic one of the reverse lights had a crack in the lens and it has gotten worse so I picked up a clean reverse light panel it’s actually the same color as the car but the paint isn’t the best it’s peeling on the edges and has some other issues so dropped it off today to be painted...
So on the P71/P7B there’s this opening on each side of the bumper, the MGM and I think most civilian Vic’s have these panels there they attach to the factory bolt holes, not sure how much it really helps with airflow but figured why not so got a set coming.
Dropped off the door hinges to be painted and should have them installed in the next couple of weeks, have a small exterior modification I’ll post about latter on.
When I got the car the lights were controlled by switches on the LH dash panel so I picked up a Whelen box for the lights. It’s set up as headlight flasher, red/blue then all the white lights/strobes on another.
Then I wired in a kill switch for the lights it’s a 3 position switch ones in...
Back to the lighting I’ve added here it is. First lights I added were the plate lights they are Whelen TIR3 vertical mount in white.
Then I added a Whelen 3rd brake light setup it’s Crown Vic specific it goes over the 3rd brake light it was a NOS find they are red/blue split.
Then I added...
Awhile back I noticed the driver side upper door bushing is shot but they aren’t replaceable you need to replace the whole hinge so picked up a set of OEM hinges need to get them painted and I’ll throw them on or might have a shop do them depends how much of a pain they are.
That’s the most frustrating thing about these cars is getting stuck behind people that go under the limit etc. nice thing is at a four way stop the other people usually let you go first even if you stopped last lol first day I had the push bar on going down the road car cuts me off then a minute...
Even if it’s just minor stuff a build thread would be nice to see the factory exhaust should be stainless steel might not be the best type some are better then others but if it’s in good shape I’d do tips, swap the mufflers and call it a day that’s what I did on the 05 on this one the exhaust...
Low miles still has plenty of life left in it, the LX Sport is basically a Marauder without the engine it’s identical mechanically other then that and the cosmetic stuff, you can get rid of the back two cats should make it a lil louder or just do mufflers or do both lol, so for the code you need...
That’s pretty sharp always loved that color and the LX Sports are pretty sweet how many miles? And in terms of engine mods that has dual exhaust already? If so could swap out the mufflers for something that flows better, skip a cold air intake just do the P71/Marauder tube/airbox but I think the...
Thanks, the bolts from the light bar stuck up enough it made the perfect base for them with a washer I think if the bar wasn’t underneath it wouldn’t look as good, and that’s a nice clean spot for them behind the grille.
Upgraded the brakes to StopTech drilled/slotted rotors, Akebono ceramic pads and SS brake hoses all the way around. Pretty much caught up to where I’m at now, need to get a few more pics of some other things I’ve done that you probably notice in some of the pics.
With the push bar installed it gave me the perfect spot to install an LED light bar & LED pods to use as high beams at night. The bar is a nice one that Tractor Supply used to sell has metal mounting brackets vs the plastic ones most have nowadays my friend bought it years ago and just had it...
Thanks for the info I honestly hardly use them maybe a minute here or there tops, the old ones really weren’t melted which I found kinda surprising being they probably were used a lot.
Installed the push bar gives in that nice aggressive look, it’s a lil tweaked but gives it character, I have since replaced the rusty bolts with new painted bolts/nuts. Took around 40 mins to install you can see it pushes down on the bumper a lil bit but the bumper wasn’t perfect before so I’m...
I’ve always missed the look of a push bar like I had on the black Vic so was browsing FB Marketplace and came across a complete Pro-Gard no cut push bar which are pretty hard to come by there either shot or missing brackets, it’s the same one CSP used on the take home Vics it was up in...
