From what I understand, in a PPV, the wiring is used differently which causes the foglights not to come on. A few weeks ago I was talking to a dealer, about these lights, and he said there for sure is an issue with police vehicles on it (has to do with emergency lights??). According to the...
Hmm.. that's scary. Maybe I need to send it to someone/dealer that actually knows how to do it?
There is a guy/company that does nothing but GM radios/Nav, maybe I should check with them. I paid $600 for my radio, don't like to see that destroyed.
This looks more like it, it looks like the cable can be locked into the socket, so it doesn't come out. The "free programming" remark got my attention... wonder what that is about? Wonder if you can do things like, unlock the radio etc.
that's for the lights on the inside, dome, always on/off/dimmed
update: That switch tends to wear out, I was told, mine doesn't seem to have a 'click'. At some point I might install fog lights, that kit comes with a new/updated switch.
Cool!! I was hoping it is something like that. The connector seems a bit "special" Do you know what cable it is? (might just be a plug that 'locks' ?
That would be easy to do, My console has a cigarette lighter plug inside the bin, I could probably drill a hole and add a USB port, they come...
I am about ready to install the Nav/Radio, but was wondering about the plugs in the back.
I believe, from what I see in videos, the gray and smaller black 'receptacles' are the ones also use by the 'basic' radio. The blue one is for the GPS antenna (that I am still waiting on) I would assume...
Hello,
Today I received the Nav/Radio, but guess what, the power know is broken/off so I am looking for a new one (it was obviously super glued on). Other than that it seems to be ok, I haven't build it in yet (waiting for the GPS antenna too)
Does anyone know where to get them? or have a GM...
It's definitely a lot less expensive, I paid $600 for a used OEM one, the price of those new is kinda ridiculous ($2,350). So we'll see how that works.
At first I thought the camera was going into the rear bumper, there's a square 'cover' that I don't have an idea what it is. (maybe part of the...
well, I know I am taking a gamble on the navigation, I count on the AM/FM being at least as good as the basics. Other than that I just looked for a good fit and the extras are just a plus. It's more a convenience and factory look thing.
I use a Garmin GPS now, and I like it, but it's THEIR...
I will do that, basically what I am doing is 'upgrading' the basics. So I added the DIC, center console, etc. basic stuff that is well known here. I ordered the Nav-Radio, will do the steering wheel, and do the climate control stuff (if possible. I'll take pics and add comments. (These SSV...
Hi there,
sounds like a newer/better (annd less expensive) system. I opted for factory for a few reasons,
[1]: it is plug and play, it (should) just plug into the wiring harness.
[2]: the 'looks' are the same as the rest of the dash
[3]: the rear audio controls, if I ever want to do something...
right, that's probably just some sensor that changes the airflow 'flaps' to keep the temperature stable (somewhat). But what I meant was, assuming that the car's "main harness' isn't different, but basically the same, the part that connects the controls to the harness (probably a plug on both...
I am not a audio/video expert either, but I can connect wires together and cut a hole in a piece of plastic, buy a new part and try to cut that hole again. (although instead of prying that chip off I'd probably solder it off)
Also, the radio is an 04 or 06. mine is a 14. I'd suspect that...
Now that would be easy. (and makes kinda sense) I talked to a GM dealer yesterday, they want $50 plus tax, which is not too bad.
)I heard one also needs to reconfigure/reprogram something to use a factory back up camera attached to a factory nav-radio
Ron
I have looked at some others, also pioneer. But sort of decided that I'd like to keep the truck OEM/factory (same style buttons, lights etc etc)
I used to have an alpine radio in an Audi I once owned.
