    Value? 96 Tahoe Two door

You’d want an “agreed value” with your insurance versus a “stated value” policy. The former is where you and the insurance agree to the value usually based on an appraisal. The latter is where you state a value (not necessarily having to provide any supporting documentation) which they use to...

    Rear hatch weatherstripping

Ridiculous setup to keep it from leaking, RTV on top and cardboard shoved under the gasket to raise it with RTV in the gap:

    Rear hatch weatherstripping

Nope, but maybe some of these other posters found a solution. I got to the “about to throw a hammer at something” stage and gave up. With the rigged seal on the tailgate top, it’s dry now. Glass still sticks out on the right more than the left and I notice that the factory welded panels...

    Value? 96 Tahoe Two door

Check bringatrailer.com if you want the high-end prices. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-chevrolet-tahoe-11/ Otherwise get a bunch of ads together for comparable trucks and use that as your replacement cost. Find your policy and read the fine print to see what loopholes they’ll use...

    unsolved P1345 cam/crank correlation issue

Did you do the crank sensor relearn after replacing it? Aftermarket distributors often have a fixed clamp for some reason. Reusing the stock clamp is the way to go if you still have it. To confirm, the distributor was installed at TDC compression with the rotor pointing to the little “8”...

    Fuel trims, dead converter?

Roger that, I have a few too many variables right now.

    How much?

For what it’s worth, I got a quote from them for repainting a 98 ex-cab truck in late 2019. Their high-end quote was $4k for the whole truck and $2-ish for their lowest, while local (real) shops were around $8k. For a hood and roof, I’d say that $2k is probably in the ballpark for a body shop...

    Fuel trims, dead converter?

Truck is a 1998 K1500 (350) with 225k and it’s had a rough life. It’s my teenage son’s truck, so I’m of a “keep it going long enough until he’s out of high school” mindset versus my Tahoe. The left head cracked and locked up #5, so I replaced that with a reman head. The right head was also...

Lol, keeping it in perspective helps!

    Custom dash?

Someone mentioned it on another thread, but I’d probably try “stop drilling” the ends of the cracks to stop them from spreading. Then fill or patch it up the best you can or try your hand at plastic welding.

    Custom dash?

They now (within the last year or so) sell a replacement dash for the 88-94 GMT400 models, but none for 95+. You could try strategically placing some butyl tape along the bezel perimeter. It sticks pretty good and may do the job with the rattles. Plus, it’s removable. It’s that tar-type...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Thanks, that’s kind of what I’m thinking after doing this and not getting very far. I replaced the oil cooler lines and cleaned out the adapter (full of chocolate milk) so those should be good. Going to crank it up, warm and drain and see how it looks.

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Spent the last couple of hours wasting oil trying to get the coolant out of the pan (1998 K1500). It’s my son’s truck and I just replaced both heads which were cracked and hydro locked the engine. Short of dropping the pan (and front differential), will pouring enough cheap oil through this...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yep, you just restaple it. You can try to salvage the existing staples, punch holes in the new one and feed the staples through. Edit: oops, looks like you already sorted it out.

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Per Google, $8 Canadian is about $6 for those of us south of the border. Damn. It’s around $3.80 here (Mississippi) which isn’t great but it varies by each state’s tax structure and a bit of voodoo tossed in for good measure. Those guys in California probably pay the most, comparable to you.

98 Tahoe - Cylinder 6 misfire - fuel or ignition problem?

GM’s fuel pressure spec is 60-66 psi, so you’re technically there and any variance within a pound or so could just be an inaccurate gauge. If you can hear it run and have no further codes or issues when starting, then I’d probably leave the pump alone unless something else comes up...

    Side window molding

Usually they just deform a little, but that’s pretty bad. I think others have had a glass shop do the fix. I want to say that the trim is glued to the glass, so it may mean buying a new glass for it.

Not that I can tell. It seems strange that it wouldn’t have a number in the quantity column.

    Cylinder head recommendation

Does this look right for TDC compression on #1 before setting the CMP offset? It’s the first time that I’ve ever set one after moving the crank. It’s pointing more toward three than one, so I’m second-guessing things but the manual says it should hit the #8 mark which it does. What do y’all...
