I recently got the check engine light on my 06 Tahoe Z71 and I scanned it and got the P0446 evap system code. A few months ago I replaced the evap canister and purge valve for having the same code since I was also experiencing where the pump would click off a bunch of times while trying to fill...
Thanks! That makes it easier and I think worth the extra cost. I was looking to go with blue anyways. Does anyone do anything for the orange needles? I know it's been mentioned the 00-02 can have the orange removed fairly easily but mine is an 06 and the solid orange. In my 97 Tahoe I had blue...
I have no problem soldering them. What resistor is needed to keep them dimmable to a reasonable low light? Do you have a link? I'm having trouble finding 03-06 ones for mine.
A couple of my gauge lights went out recently on my 06 Tahoe Z71 that I was going to replace. I had some LED gauge lights in my old 97 Tahoe from superbrightleds but I noticed driving at night for a longer distance the brightness would hurt my eyes and make me more tired. Was wondering if there...
I do have the components to connect to. So if I convert the component connection from the dvd player to HDMI and put that into the HDMI input on the alpine unit I should be able to get the dual zone control?
Talked to Crutchfield tech support and apparently the Alpine iLX-207 is only dual zone capable when it has the input coming in from the HDMI in.
So I guess my question now is, either how does everyone else get it to work or how can I convert the connections of the factory dvd player to and HDMI...
I have an 06 Tahoe Z71 with Bose and Onstar and rear overhead dvd that I just installed an Alpine iLX-207 stereo. It has dual zone entertainment. I’m trying to switch the RSE to play the audio of a DVD playing in the rear overhead DVD player but it’s stuck on “RADIO” for the RSE controls. When I...
It's not too bad to swap the factory stereo and use one of the recommended wiring harnesses such as the PAC RP5-GM11 to connect to the factory wiring. Only thing is that most people experience a little feedback/interference when nothing is playing but it isn't too bad. As far as the factory...
Try switching the connection between "Amplified Factory Audio" and "Non-amplified Factory Audio" on the blue box module to see if that makes a difference. I had a similar issue with mine and when I switched, it made a difference in the interference noise. But still have a very slight...
Looks great! I was considering that pioneer sub too. Previous pioneer subs I’ve heard have always been a little soft sounding but that was years ago. How does it sound does it have a good punch?
I was installing my new Alpine ilx-207 stereo in my 06 Tahoe Z71 (with Bose) with the correct PAC wiring harness yesterday and then this morning I noticed it looks like two bulbs are out on my gauge cluster (one by the volt gauge and one on the top side between RPM and MPH) along with the HVAC...
Yes, I know I'm not going to get anywhere near to two 12's but just was trying to describe in words the sound I'm looking for. I know there's a huge difference between two 12's and one 8. Since can't really go and test the subs out, wanted to get what others have and how it sounds.
@Rocket Man...
So finally getting around to getting a sub after it's been awhile since I picked up the factory '02 subwoofer box in back. It looks like the factory box has a volume of 0.34 cu. ft. I've been looking at three different 8" subs: JL 8W1v3-4, Kicker CompRT 43CWRT81, and Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8...
I do not have access to a Tech2 unless I just take it to the dealer and have them do it.
When I scanned it I got all the following codes: P0740; P0753; P0758; P0785; P2761. I cleared them and they came back right away.
When the shop scanned it they just told me it showed pretty much every...
The other week on my 2006 Tahoe Z71 I got in it to go to work and noticed it was way bogged down when taking off like it was in "limp" mode. I checked the transmission fluid and had to add 4oz short of 2 quarts to get the level back up in the checkerboard. Still drove the same after that. I had...
I got almost 80,000 miles out of my last set of BFG's and looking to get at least 60,000 out of this new set I put on this past fall. I rotate every other oil change so about every 6,000 miles.
They work great in all conditions! Mud, rain, snow, ice.
I've got a '06 Tahoe Z71 with Bose with the rear DVD. I was wondering if anyone has upgraded the screen on them before and kept the stock player. Wasn't sure what would all be involved but would be nice to have an updated screen with better resolution.
