I do, and they've been correctly adjusted.
Fronts require no adjustment by nature of the drop spindles. Rears have been adjusted so that just after staring the vehicle the compressor kicks on for just a second and raises the rear maybe a 1/4 of an inch.
Poked around in my scan tool earlier today and it does have the ability to display all for wheel speed sensors.
Unfortunately, that didn't provide much insight. Found a wide open parking lot where I could safely just drive around in a circle at about 10mph while looking at the scan tool. The...
It's not setting a code. It's simply occasionally activating the ABS during sharp low (less than 10-15 mph) speed turns because at least one sensor is apparently not reading correctly at low speeds thus the system is detecting a variance between the four sensors and engaging the ABS.
Behavior...
I have several scan tool options that will read and clear ABS, chassis, powertrain, etc, etc, codes. I've looked through all the data streams on them however and I don't think they have (at least that I've found) the ability to read/display the individual wheel speed sensor data to assist me in...
Interesting thought, but I don't really see how that could be happening. With the drop spindles, none of the suspension angles change really. Only the axle angle (if AWD/4WD). You're simply moving the wheel bearing/hub up 2". I had my alignment checked after installing them and it was still...
I'm well aware of the fragile rear ABS sensor connectors, not the issue. One of the first things I tried with the original sensors. And since have replaced the rear sensors, again ensuring solid, seated connection.
I feel like it has something to do with the front.
@CHOO CHOO - So, you had...
So three or so weeks ago I installed a McGaughy's 2/3-4 drop.
Since the install, I've had an issue of intermittent low speed ABS activation while turning sharply. If I'm on the brakes, the ABS pulses, if I'm not then just the traction control light flashes.
So, obviously a wheel or two is not...
I can't really speak of one vs the other as I haven't had both, but I recently put on a McGaughy's 2/3-4 drop and am happy with it. Rides just as good or better than stock.
A couple of things that are different about the McGaughy's drop spindles vs the Belltech:
1. The mounting surface for...
That was my plan this weekend when I put the new backing plates on. Also ordered two new sensors just in case. El cheapo brand, so not the end of the world if I just keep them as spares. Also need to remove the 1 in spacer in the rear. After it fully settled after putting a few miles on it...
So since putting on the 2/3 drop Saturday, been experiencing a weird random brake related issue. At least for the McGaughy's drop spindles you have to trim the brake backing plate some in order for the caliper/caliper bracket to bolt back up. I had kind of forgotten this and wasn't well...
Found via Google..
Many vehicles currently incorporate an afterblow function within the HVAC control module software. The afterblow feature, when enabled, employs the HVAC blower fan to dry the evaporator after vehicle shutdown, and this function will inhibit microbial growth. Technicians are...
Well, I had planned to throw on the 2/3 drop today. But, living in an apartment complex I have to go over to a buddies house for any major undertakings. Got all the way over there and pulled the front wheels off before realizing in my haste to try to get an early start this morning before it...
No, actually what I meant is what I said. A regular spark plug socket, with a short well 3/4" socket on the end. Adds just enough overall length to put your ratchet point just past the manifold.
Replaced the starter today. Vehicle has never not started, but a handfull of times would do weird things like stay engaged for a second after starting, etc.
Took the approach of removing the passenger side fender liner and going in from the side over the top of the frame rail. Super easy...
Regular spark plug socket + 3/4" short socket on the end. It is just the right length to extend beyond the manifold, but leave room to get a regular 3/8" rachet in there to bust it loose.
Yeah, I'm 99.9% sure it's just the buttons themselves that are loose. I can hear it rattling, take just the tip of my fingers and apply light pressure to the buttons, rattle stops. I thought about maybe some thin slivers of felt around each of the buttons might work. Tighten up the fitment...
My memory recall and heated seat buttons rattle. Short of just replacing the whole switch panel, any ideas on how to keep them from rattling? I guess I should just listen to my music louder. LOL
This.
When I replaced my rear shocks I already knew about the ABS plugs up there and was extra careful. Guess what? Still happened. First key on after, all the warning lights. Reached up there, yep, unplugged. Pushed them back in fully, no lights.
Random thought after sitting at a redlight earlier next to a new 2019 Sierra Denali...
Might be neat to use the center part of the fender emblem from the '19 truck for some of us NNBS 6.2 owners looking for a unique (but still technically OE) badge/emblem.
I put a set of these on about 10 months ago. Been just fine.
