    Question regaurding value of my Tahoe

    I had an 04 Denali with <40k miles I traded in Spring 2009 for a used 09 Denali... my "trade in value" was about 12k, but I only ended up paying about 35k cash incl ttl (the 09 had <5k miles, completely decked out except for power side steps, was listed at 52k).

    I feel like if the rest of the chrome could be turned into black chrome (ie find some black-chrome tape to cover the original crap faux chrome) and black chrome the wheels, it would look SICK. I'd do it if I knew my truck wasn't going to be gone in the next year :(

    For what it's worth, I had my kickers in my trunk in the Texas heat over summers (aka rubber dries out) and never had a problem with the corners ripping. I had them for over 2 years (and believe it or not they survived the car accident in my album as well)

    That was my exact setup minus the custom box. Definitely gave some ground-pounding bass but didn't have any distortion. I feel like one would be alright however. I never tried it.

    All of them have little notches on where to take them off. Like said above, use a tiny screwdriver and pry them off. If you want to see pics of a conversion, see my album.

    Head-on accident

    I was hit by a drunk, it's no fun (see album). Glad you're alright. I wouldn't have driven it even off the scene, let a tow truck take care of it. His insurance should cover it all, along with a comparable rental (or cost difference if one can't be found).

    Look for any of the 6.2L gm trucks, they're the same motor. Numbers will be different slightly depending on the tranny, drive, etc.

    Dremel the spindle and find a replacement plastic gear. If it works, you saved $800. If it doesn't work, you're in the same position you're in now.

    That's what happened to me. I went to start it one day, it was a little sluggish. Next morning, nada.

    My battery died after 4 years last week... replaced with an Optima 34/78 and the starts don't seem as sluggish anymore. I don't know why it's not listed as fitting, because it fit perfectly in the factory spot and the brace fit as well.
