The fastest way to check is with a flashlight and maybe a mirror. Check to see if you have a smooth valley cover under your intake. A smooth valley cover means you have the first version and don't have AFM crap in your engine.
No. There were 2 different 6.2 in the denali starting in 2007. The first version did not have AFM or any AFM internals. The second version had AFM lifters, cam, and valley cover but did not have AFM turned on in the tune. The second version is the one to avoid or if you have it, install an AFM...
I have never had a car new enough to get warranty work done. So I am clueless on that. But I do know for a fact a new tune will not cure an awful AFM lifter design. The lifters are mechanically flawed, you can't fix them electronically.
Not sure about herpes, I hear bleach will cure that, but a tune is a great thing and blackbear lifetime tunes are a better than life thing. But an AFM failure has nothing to do with the tune and a tune is not in any way preventive maintenance as far as AFM failures go. They are, as far as I know...
I agree with 08grey. If you are going to keep this truck or sink money into it like 90% of us on this forum, you don't want a car that will rust out in a year or 2. My denali was a flood car and it looked greally when I bought it, 2 months after the flood. But now I am seeing the damage. But I...
Nice. While the lower temp of nitrous oxide is great for led headlights, you would get more reliabe power from a well tuned turbo led headlight. Mine are pushing 12000 lumens right now with a basic air to air intercooler. Im still trying to get the tune right but I believe with the right tune, I...
I have a 2007 denali. I want to do some headlight mods. Led fog lights automatically turned on, quad turn signal, anything else I can do? I'm not scared of wiring. Just scared of pulling 250 watts thru a 16 guage wire
I'm pretty happy with my tune from blackbear. Keep in mind they are amazing but they are a family company. They deserve support to keep making great cars better for years to come. And lifetime professional tunes are only 1 email away.
I'm glad you got it running right again. However, I would think about a rebuild for next time. If you intend to keep the truck or engine for another few years at least. You still have AFM lifters, cam, and valley cover on the truck. Turned off in programming is great but you had a mechanical...
For cheap, airaid MIT. Noticed a gain and sounds great. An oil catch can is a must. It might not help with performance but it definatly make yiu run cleaner and isle better. Also, a cheap high flow muffler and resonator delete (assuming you don't have AFM) will give you good sound but no real...
Could you explain the symptoms? A magnet will not pull out shavings from rod bearings. And gm says 10 psi oil per 1000 rpm. So only 6psi at idle is ok (600 rpm). While I don't agree, they seem to think it is fine. I only run 20 psi at 650 rpm idle when hot. I have no problems.
If you have a...
I hate taking my car to the shop for anything. Tires included. I won't let anyone touch my car unless I watch. And I'm not a bit shy to correct aomeone. Last time I went to a tire shop they tried to start my lug nuts with an impact. I'm not trying to buy new studs or a new hub. So I made him...
I carry a glock 41 and I just mounted a custom holster to the door pannel. As a side benifit, it keeps me from putting junk in my lower door poket. It's easy enough to get too. And nobody can really see it from outside the drivers door.
Don't rule out pat G or geoff at EPS. Their custom cams and especially the EPS cam lobes are the best as far as noise and durability go. And no sacrifice of power. Cam motion acctually grinds the cams so you know it is a quality part. But the only way to get the EPS lobe is going thru EPS. Cam...
If you want a cam I would recomend geoff at EPS. With dual valve spring and over .600 lift my cam is still just as quiet as stock as far as valve train noise.
Fuck used. You have good known engine. Take it to a shop and get the cam bearings installed cylinders bored and decks plained. Add a cam and build a stroker. I know it sucks but the price for a new engine and a performance build is very similar. And a build is so much better
The screen is only on afm. And I don't see a real problem with replacing it in an afm setting. It it gets clogged, that means it saved your lifters from that crud inside. A better solution than removing it in my mind is to do an acctual AFM delete.
