    the dying symptom is not consistent, it kinda only comes along after heavy hot drive. Should be able to recreate that over the next few days

    Here is the hot soak fuel pressure test. On my test drive the pressure gauge needle was very steady on the drive out, but after stopping for 20 mins, on the return journey the needle flickered a lot like you see here in the hot soak.

    rigged up the fuel pressure gauge to the window. Here is a video showing, running, off, electrics on, start. Will do road test tomorrow followed by hot soak.

    You were right Bro, did the test as you described and hey ho, both low beam filaments blown. 2 nice new ones installed.

    Hi, I've lost my main beam, both headlamps. All other lights work fine, including high beam. Check fuses/relays noting doing there so pulled the bulbs. My question is how do you know if this is blown, both main and high beam are delivered from this guy and high beam works great. Help please...

    no mistype, but I will check again and load video. I did release the pressure in the shrader value before connecting the gauge and turning on the ignition, is that the right thing to do?

    Got Pressure testing Kit, Engine Cold - Ignition on = 45psi Engine Cold - Car running = 62psi Have not performed hot soak test yet. Kit did not provide enough hose to be able to read while driving, looking for a suitable extension hose.

    to be fair to the mech the dying issue has occurred after the fix on the battery. thanks for the advice, going to take a very good look at those areas now, will report back. Should I think about swapping the plugs?

    thanks, I don't know how to do a fuel pressure test, I will look online. What sort of gauge are you referring to? I do not have a Tech 2 What is a hot soak? Would it be adviseable to swap out the plugs as a first step?

    Thanks, I think that is the plan. It did has never experienced issues like this therefore it seems likely they did/did not do something.......I also found a large rag they left in engine which could have made it onto the manifold and burst into flames,,,,,,thanks GMC

    I hear ya about the solenoids and was hopeful I could find someone who could diagnose that. But in the end I had to go the main dealer route and their diagnoses was general, not specific.
