My 2010 owners manual references that premium fuel is only recommended for the Aluminum block 6.2. If you have the iron block, (VIN code F if I recall), then 87 octane is recommended.
I think the VIN code for the aluminum block is "2".
First, only the aluminum block 6.2s recommend premium fuel. If yours has an iron block, you can use 87. Check your VIN code and the 8 th digit indicates which block you have.
I listened for the same noise in mine and just barely hear what you are describing. I think it's coming from the...

I'm trading my 2006 in for a 2010 Denali and taking delivery this weekend. The "vehicle to be" is showing needing the same...
It looks like yours has the SLT-2 package. A couple other things it may (or may not) have:
Trailering Package (3.42 gears and heavy duty cooling)
Block heater (only available in cold weather climates)
LPO chrome (mirrors, door handles, grille, exhaust)
2nd row power folding seats
DVD...
Tough to beat a set of Michelin LTX MS2's for all around wear, ride and traction.
Not cheap, but if you shop, you can find a deal. I just put a set of the Denali....I should be set for awhile.
My tire shop includes the rebuild kits whenever you buy a set of tires.
If you need new sensors...that's a different story. But, the sensors should last at least 100K miles.
If it's coming from the rear of the vehicle, it's the rear end. Mine was toast at 48K miles.
Good news is it's covered by the powertrain warranty. Bad news is, at 52K miles, the noise is starting to come back. Not sure if its a design issue but I'm getting ready to take it back in.
Replaced the fuse....no luck.
Checked the connections....no luck. None of the 3 outlets in the console (dash, center compartment, back of the center compartment) work. Interestingly, the cig plug in the cargo area works fine.
There are 2 fuses...one labeled "CIG LIT" and one labeled "Aux Outlet"...I've checked both and they were good. In fact, I've checked every fuse in both the underhood fuse block and the dash fuse panel and nothing is blown......
It's got me vexed.....
Interesting topic....
I have the 17's on both my '06 and '08. The factory Goodyear's on the '08 lasted 38K miles...at the time I wasn't sure if we were keeping the vehicle off the lease so I put on a set of BFG Long Trails....10 months and 10K miles later the Long Trails were down to 4/32...
First, as a newbie to this forum, thanks for answering my question...
I have an '06 Denali and the dash cigarette lighter has stopped working. A check of both the dash fuse as well as the underhood fuse indicates that they both are good. Is there another fuse or link hidden somewhere...
