Michelin LTX M/S it is then

I have also worked at a few tire shops. The factory Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza is a very good tire, but for some reason it is mandatory to keep them rotated! They like to cup if you don't. I love the michelin ltx, its not as good as the cross tarrain but they do not make it in the right size. I had a set of lts m/s on a 2002 pathfinder, I changed them when they had about 90,000 miles on them with tread still left. They ware more even then the bridgestones. There are lots of good tires out there but if you want a quiet tire that last along time, I vouch for the ltx m/s.

Mine had the Alenza's when I got it. Thought I wanted to be more aggressive so i went with Terra Grapplers in a 275/60-20, but I didn't like the sidewall. Swapped them for Michelin LTX M/S 2's in the stock size. ALL I can say is they are AWESOME. The ride is unreal...even compaired to the new Nitto's. I noticed a difference as I was pulling off the lift at the dealership. I am stock and plain, but it sure does ride good. Guess I am getting old!

What about Goodyear SilentArmor? They are supposed to be a great all year tire.

Interesting topic....

I have the 17's on both my '06 and '08. The factory Goodyear's on the '08 lasted 38K miles...at the time I wasn't sure if we were keeping the vehicle off the lease so I put on a set of BFG Long Trails....10 months and 10K miles later the Long Trails were down to 4/32!! The BFGs did have a 60K treadwear life so I got back about 80% of what I paid, but never again. I went with Yokohama Geolander's this time, which is what I have on the '06. 40K on them and they look like they will go another 10K or so.

I used to work at a worldwide tire shop for now we'll call it hot rock, I may be a little biased but from my experience Michelins are some of the best highway tires out there but they are quite pricey. I really like the bridgestone alenzas for highway and Dueler revo II's for all terrain (I have the revo's on my truck) great off road capability and very quiet on the highway.
I despise goodyears though. They always seemed to take more weight to balance and wear prematurely and unevenly. BF Goodrich also makes a great a/t tire.

I worked at Firestone and sears auto in the past and I say your info is spot on.

I agree with the last 2 posts... Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos are great if you want the A/T look, but still good manners on the highway. I had 3 sets on my truck and will be getting them in 275/55/20 on my Yukon when my Alenza's wear out. Best looking tire out there IMO.
