    Cracked dash

Guess that depends on how you look at it. The hard plastic breaks pretty easily and in a frontal crash the pieces could cause quite a bit of harm to occupants. There probably isn't too much/enough data to try to back that up. Hence, no lawyer has been willing to challenge GM about it.

Worked on my cracked dash this past weekend

Got any after pics yet, OP? The dash on my wife's Tahoe is not as bad as yours seemed to be, but I've been contemplating between trying to fix it or just getting a DashSkin (the one that goes over the whole dash, not just the top)...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Installed new hood lift support I broke a couple of weeks ago when I got pissed off at the AC. Took about 10 seconds.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Never bought a new vehicle with a warranty and pretty sure I never will. We buy these things when they are 6-7 years old, pay cash and usually spend a hell of a lot less in repairs than in car payments. In other news... Report from the road was that the battery is holding up good. No issues.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Battery was on the charger for 24 hours and showed 12.7V after I unhooked it. My wife is about to hit the road with the Tahoe shortly, so I guess we'll see in a couple of hours if it holds.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I know. I'm no stranger to dealing with crap in older vehicles. At least all of the stuff I've been dealing with this year have luckily been somewhat minor (except maybe the AC). For now. My wife is ready for a newer one, but I think this one still has some good miles ahead of it, so I don't...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

And the story continues... Came back from a two week vacation at our summer house back across the pond and found the Tahoe with a dead battery at the airport. Dead as in there was no life whatsoever in it. Had a guy in an early 2000s V6 Mustang give a jump, but to no avail. Then my daughter...

    TPMS rubber seals

I think at least Discount Tire around here actually requires the "TPMS rebuild kit", or what ever they call it. Don't know how much it is, though. But yeah, like kwOH said, not a biggie for $13 bucks and if any problems, you know who to go for fixing them.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well... Guys at the shop put a new AC belt on and sent the Tahoe out the door. They said the one that shredded had sustained damage already earlier when I had the issue. Okay... We'll see how long this one will last. And in other news... Broke the damn hood shock yesterday when I opened the...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Since I don't want to touch the AC system myself, I'll try take it to the shop tomorrow for another diagnosis and we'll go from there. But if there's something wrong with the compressor, it's probably better to throw a new one in there and be done with it.

That, or then the compressor is locking up occasionally. I read something about the locking up thing when this all started a couple of weeks ago.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got a replacement AC belt tensioner under warranty from Amazon and put it on. Less than 10 miles later the belt pretty much shredded. Guess that pretty much confirms that something fishy is going on with the compressor. Can't catch a break right now, can I?

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

When the hell is this shit gonna end??? Got a call from my wife that she's about to head home from Target and there's some awful rattling noise from the engine. Of course I'm going through all these engine top or bottom end rattlings and what not scenarios through my mind when I drive the 7...

2010 yukon tire lock up? HELP!?

It's attached to your transmission if you have 4WD, but since you said yours is not, that is not your problem.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Now that the AC is fixed, I decided yesterday to give the Tahoe a good once over in the form of a proper wash with wheel cleaning as well as interior detail. Looks pretty damn good. Leather seats could use some cleaning and refreshment still. No rips, tears, cracking etc., though. Also noticed...

I used soldering iron to heat the existing solder on both the glass and tab slapped them together over a year ago. Has held up since then and the defrost even works.

How many miles will we get out of our Yukons / Tahoes?

Since you don't even have AFM to worry about in the 6.2L, you are just getting started at 118K. Just keep up with the maintenance, oil changes etc. and you'll easily get 250-300K out of it without major mechanical problems. Sure, there will be wear items you need to replace (suspension...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Tahoe is back and the AC is good as new. At least once in my life some vehicle repair was much less than anticipated. There was nothing wrong with the compressor after all. The mounting bolts just had somehow worked themselves loose. Wonder how that happened...? Then there was also a...

    I found my dream Tahoe

Damn!!! Imthought I knew quite a bit about the background of these things, but wasn't aware of the 6.2 Tahoe. :shakehead: Very nice!!! Now I know what to look out for when it's time to replace wife's Tahoe in the next year or two. Loved the 07 Escalade she had a few years ago, but kind of...

    Best place to buy wheels?

Sure, you can do that. Pretty sure they charge you something for the rebuild, too. Maybe also for breaking down the old ones and removing them. If I was getting brand new wheels and tires, I'd invest at least the 80-90 bucks for new sensors for piece of mind knowing you shouldn't have to worry...

    Best place to buy wheels?

I was also looking to get a set of those (new or used) earlier this year to go back to stock and get rid of the 24s on my wife's LTZ, but the prices were just short of ridiculous. Especially for used ones. Therefore I ended up buying a set of brand new 2017 20" LTZ take offs straight from a...
