Just wanted to share my experience with my Yukon for anyone else who may have had the same problem.

Over the last few months, I noticed my Yukon would automatically put itself in 4WD Auto. I would put it back in 2HI and go about my day.

Last week it did it again so I put it back into 2HI and drove it to the store. When I went to leave, I put it in reverse and it didn't go into gear. I tried drive but, the same thing. I put it back into park and I heard grinding.

I put it back into 4WD Auto and it went right into gear. I drove down the road and put it back into 2HI to see what would happen. It worked fine for a mile or two then it started slipping, then went out of gear. I pulled over, put it back into 4WD Auto and it went back into gear.

After doing some research I discovered that some people had the same issue and the cause was a worn out Transfer Case Control Motor.

I purchased a new one and after a lot of yelling, frustration and bruised knuckles, I replaced it and it solved the issue.

I hope sharing this experience helps and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks all
