    Flickering Morimotos

Yup. FedEx pretty much told me to go pound sand and said it’s my fault since I didn’t pay for signature confirmation and since the tracking info says it was delivered, they’re out. :flame: I do have to say that for me this was actually the first time any shipment has been completely lost over...

    Flickering Morimotos

Update to close this episode. Kudos to TRS for excellent service and warranty fulfillment. As I mentioned above, FedEx lost the original warranty replacement shipment. We both filed complaint with FedEx, but of course they denied. Whe FedEx was "investigating" the issue, TRS sent another pair...

    Flickering Morimotos

The Retrofit Source sent me a pair of replacement Morimotos via FedEx and while FedEx tracking shows them being delivered last Sunday, nothing showed up at my door and according to my Ring cameras/doorbell nobody entered my yard or front door at or around the time FedEx says the package was...

    Flickering Morimotos

Okay… Got one new bulb, installed it on the passenger side today and still doing the same thing. Most of the time it’s still the passenger side but sometimes both. I’ve checked and checked all wiring, pins etc. and don’t see anything wrong with them. Guess I should’ve just left the stuff...

What's my 15' SLT Yukon XL worth (Dec. 2021)?

Market sure is crazy... Haven't checked prices/values for my wife's Suburban since I bought it in October 2020. Currently has 149K miles (high, yes, but not a concern for me) and KBB gives a trade-in value of almost 3K more than what I paid for it at private sale. o_O Not that I'm considering...

    Flickering Morimotos

Started another warranty return with The Retrofit Source, so let's see. Kind of difficult to believe I received two defective sets, but I guess it can happen. If yet another set doesn't fix the issue, then I might have to take you up on cutting the wires topic, @Doubeleive. ;)

Was hoping to avoid that route if somebody had experienced something similar, but I guess getting replaced will be the only way...

    Flickering Morimotos

Pretty much random. For example last night passenger side went out while sitting at traffic lights. And BTW, they don't always both go out at the same time. Plug-and-play to factory harness. No separate ground wires.

    Flickering Morimotos

I'm sure flickering LEDs have been discussed ad nauseam, but thought I'd add my twist to the topic and see if anybody has any ideas or has experienced the same and fixed it. I installed Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0s from The Retrofit Source in wife's Suburban earlier this year. I first installed them...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Same here. Did an oil change and the ca was over 3/4 full in 7K miles. Sure does its job. Cleaned her up best I could so now my wife can go ahead and destroy it again. Yes, cleaned also the engine bay, so it’s not as dirty as in the pic. Haha!

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

There is a step-by-step somewhere here on the board. Just not something I'm necessarily comfortable with doing as it requires some wiring stuff and I don't want to mess anything up. It shouldn't be too bad, but me and wiring stuff doesn't necessarily always go together, so I'll leave it as it is...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

No. The fogs are always on with headlights. Not necessarily the way I like it, but it was much easier. Might look into an actual factory style conversion at some point. It’s just a bit more involved than what I’d prefer. We’ll see…

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally, after about six months after gathering all parts, I got around to doing tow hook and fog light retrofit. Also added anti-flickers for the headlights since the Morimoto 2stroke 3.0s just wouldn’t work properly. Passenger side was out most of the time and they kept flickering. So...

    2015-2019 5.3 any good?

This. Times eleventybillion. AFM is something to be aware of, but since you really can't avoid it, it's just something you need to have to learn to live with. Disabling AFM via tune or Range device is your best bet to give yourself some piece of mind. Catch can is another thing to do...

addicted to software updates - what to say to get them from Dealer?!

I understand where you are coming from, but I'd also have to agree with others that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. You might just be looking for issues where there currently are no issues. That might be exactly the reason why the dealers aren't interested doing it just like that. Stone age...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I have toyed around with the Fumoto idea for years now. Just never gotten around to it. Maybe one of these days... :help:

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Hell yeah! :anitoof: There I was thinking about a quick 30-40 minute job which in the end took me almost two hours with a trip to AZ and working meticulously trying not to break things that were put on with an impact gun or something. Definitely called for a beer or two or three.

Should I disable AFM on my 2017?

One thing you should also add is a catch can to get rid of all the crap the PCV system throws back into the intake. With these direct-injected engines that is no bueno. Just IMO, a catch can might even be more beneficial for the longevity than disabling AFM. The AFM system has its issues, but I...

    Denali picked up

Looks good. They all do pretty much the same thing. If all you are looking for is to plug into the OBD port to disable, the Range device does what it's supposed to do. I don't even remember if there are any others that do it. If you plan to get a handheld programmer, then go for one that...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

First oil change on the Suburban and I’ll tell ya... What a freaking shitshow. I’d love to meet the grease pit gorilla who changed the oil last time. :biggun: Drain plug hardly moved even with a 12” breaker bar and even then it was touch and go, since the socket was twisting off the head...

    Considering '15+ Burb...

Pretty sure there are at least 4-5 threads here on the first page with the same question. Might want to browse those through and see if you are missing something after them. Here you go. https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/would-you-buy-your-yukon-tahoe-again.95825/unread...

'15 Yukon XL SLT will not start, cluster light going crazy, engine will not shut off

These things are known to be pretty damn finicky when it comes to proper electricity. As @Doubeleive said, start with all those and see what you can find. Also, if you’re still running your original battery from 2015, it’s time to replace it.

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got the replacement Morimotos today but only replaced the driver’s side which was the one having the flickering issue, regardless of the side it was installed in. Was able to get it clocked in so that the LEDs are at 9 and 3 and no more flickering or turning off. Passenger side did a couple of...

    FYI Fumoto Oil Drain Valve

Been thinking about adding a Fumoto in a lot of my vehicles over the years, just never got to doing it. Maybe I finally should find it in me to actually do it. LOL! I have no issue doing the oil change the old-fashioned way, either, but Fumoto sure would make the draining a lot easier.
