    It can be complicated,... there are interfaces that work with or without amp,...is the HU stock GM/Bose ? Edit; OK I see you have a Kenwood HU,.. there is a chance that the PO deleted the factory amp.

    My Cooper AT3's saved my ASS the other day,... some little jap crap slammed his breaks on in front of me on wet roads,.... I could not believe how those Cooper's grabbed the wet road and did not skip a beat. whew,..stopped way faster then I would have expected.

    Many times these issues arrive from a bad ground on the amp itself,.. as far as location,.. NBS should be in console,... nnbs might be in rear quarter.

    Confirmed,... slight protrusion with 1.5",.. so your info on the 1.75" was correct....in my case in doesnt come into play.

    Thats sounds a bit high,...thinking you can get a quality gauge for less. I used to like to monitor intake vacuum,.. you'd be surprised how much gas you can save by watching intake volume.
