We looked at a GL 550 to replace my mom's escalade a few months back. Although the 550 looks a lot better than the 450 since it has the AMG body kit, but overall the interior and exterior still felt dated to me.
I agree. Reverse camera is more than sufficient for me. The 8 speed is the only thing I can see being a major factor given it being GM's first attempt at it.

That looks awesome. Definitely a major difference with the drop. There's a few 2015's rolling around and the rear just looks ridiculous at standard height. Leveling the rear at minimum is a must on these.
If you want an AGM battery like Optima, the Diehard Advanced Gold AGM Group 48 is a great replacement from Sears. If you want to go to a larger size battery, you can fit a group 65 with slight modification to the battery tray tabs.

I would choose the Denali over the LTZ. I've seen a few in person and that front end on the tahoe ruins the whole thing. The yukon front end is better.
