Need to get a new battery today so I wanted to see if anyone has a paticular recomendation? IN am not running anything other than my LED bar which does not draw much power. I was looking at OPTIMA but I heard they are garbage now that they are not made in the States. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you want an AGM battery like Optima, the Diehard Advanced Gold AGM Group 48 is a great replacement from Sears. If you want to go to a larger size battery, you can fit a group 65 with slight modification to the battery tray tabs.

We run Optimas in just about everything we own. As soon as other projects die down, I'll be replacing the flooded acid battery in our Tahoe with another Optima. The important thing I find that helps an Optima (and just about any other automotive battery, for that matter) is to keep them charged up. We have all of our less-frequently-used vehicles on Battery Tenders. Doing that, I've had one battery fail in the last 4 years. Yes, it was an Optima, but having one battery go bad in 12 vehicles in 4 years are odds I'll accept.
