yes did the vent when i got the codes but before i noticed the gas. Also did charcoal at the same time. No noticable pellets in lines too
Also to note the vent code never pops up, it only shows as pending from time to time but never sticks. The P0451 is the one that actually becomes CEL.
Hi all
I am trouble shooting a P0446 intermittent pending and persistant P0451 code on a 2010 Escalade ESV. I went to disconnect the rubber vent hose that attaches to the fill neck from the the plastic hose that terminates to the gas tank and noticed gasoline in the lines. The amount varies...
Shortly after writing this i suspected that the evap purge valve was stuck open or at fault. I replaced it and had no issues for a month. After another issue I deceided to put in a new OEM throttle body and did both pairs of 02 sensors.
The truck was good for about another month or two but in...
I am going to be doing both sides on a 2010 Escalade ESV. Is pushing up on the cats better than the rear side of the oil pan? Both seem risky. Oil pan/pickip deformation and damaging the pan seal vs craking the exhaust tubing and shearing the flange bolts. Which is best in terms of lowest risk...
I noticed that too and didnt know enough if TB command was from ECU or faulty.
2010 ESV 105K miles (i should have added)
also superimposed scaled RPM onto TB position for comparison. I just dont know if the TB is commanded to move as a way to regain control or if it is the fault causing the stall.
A while back I posted a thread about a rare event that only happens within 5-10 of cold start. The event occurs randomly; sometimes twice a week and sometimes once in several months. I thought i had corrected the issue but it has now reoccured two days in a row and worse than before. A bit...
Would the message go away immediately after unplugging or would it take 5-10 min? I tried last time and it stayed on but i didnt wait long before plugging it back in. I scanned the owners manual and it has this nugget of wisdom:
SERVICE BRAKES SOON
This message displays if there is a problem...
I have been randomly getting 'service brakes soon' message on DIC for a 2010 escalade esv while normal driving/not towing. Message only comes up every few days so far.
Brake fluid looks good and level is steady. No noticable exterior dot3 leaks around master cylinder. I pulled, cleaned, and re...
Job is fairly easy to do.
I got lazy and did it on the ground with out lifting the rear wheels.
Some advice that wasn't stated above:
-I took the seal to the hardware store and found a PVC plumbing fitting that was the right size to help drive it in.
- I needed a 11mm box or crow's foot for the...
I just got my truck back from a rear main seal replacement and now i notice a trans leak at the output shaft seal.
I figure this one is easy, just disconnect at the u-joint, pull out and replace?
Are there any special tools, consumables, other things I should replace while i am in the process...
Thanks for the response. A quck check of LTFT shows B1 -8.8 and B2 -9.4 at idle. When driving lightly it trends towards -3.3 and -5.0 approx at 75F ambient temp.
I do believe that the trans is 6L80
Edit: its flex fuel vehicle, may change the acceptable pressure
I am still having issues with the truck.
I left the truck at a local shop for a week shortly after my last post due to another episode. They were unable to recreate the issue or find any problems in the engine or trans.
I took the truck home, replaced the TPS, cleaned and regreased the battery...
Before I ran it I saw around 77 during my first measurements which was after about 10 hours sitting. After running and turning truck off getting 81.8 steady
Around 58 psi start up. Idle 42.6 to 43.9 low/high but usually bouncing around 43.1 and 43.5 psi. First gear run the same results, a high around 44 and change at 3k rpms.
Thanks for the response. I was driving around at 5am and didn't precieve any light or electrical loss. My first feeling that something was wrong was I noticed something with rpm and then power steering went out. Lights stayed on the whole time.
I'm starting to think it's not a tranny issue.
This morning after a few weeks of no problems the issue came up again and killed the engine.
The problem happens with 3-5 min of start up after the truck has been sitting for 12+ hours
Engine is not warmed up yet, driving at about 20-25 mph and low...
Drop the tank, disconnect all the evap hoses but not the fuel line, and use compressed air to push all the pellets out. Besides dropping the tank from the ground and not a lift the only challenge is that the hoses have multiple ends so getting all the pellets out requires plugging some and going...
Thanks all. I'll look into the reset procedure. I changed out the rear diff fluid and seal about 5k ago.
How long do torque converters last on these trucks? 105k miles no towing.
I'm having some drivability issues and need some help on where to start.
Issues happen in the morning with the engine warming up or warm but with trans still under 160F. Fluid/filter changed 10k miles ago. Recent work range AFM disabler, evap solenoid and flushed carbon pellets out of lines, and...
I just noticed recently that my 2010 escalade ESV steering wheel shakes a bit above 60mph. It's a slight C/CW movement. I don't put a lot of miles on the truck so I don't know if this has always been present or just started.
Before I waste a day checking hubs or having the tires rebalanced can...
