I don`t ever beat on the truck but i`m not scared to hit the red line, Most of the miles are put on in the summer traveling to our summer home doing 75 -85 on the highway. If there`s salt on the road in the...
I did the 07 swap years ago and used R-1 concepts drilled and slotted E line rotors, My rear calipers were slowly dying so i got my second set of R-1`s when i replaced the calipers.
I put a cat back on my yukon on jack stands in the garage and it was pretty easy. The only issue i ran into was i had to cut the tailpipe in half to remove it because a lack of clearance to swing it out over the axle.
I bought a cheap one on ebay, I think for about $20. I had little faith in the cheap part so i bought two and years later it still works great. I`m sure if i only got one it would have failed by now.
In all the research i did prior to getting a tune most people stated that they gained 1-2 mpg after their tune.
I switched to 20 inch wheels right before i got my 93 tune from blackbear so i really didn`t see an increase in mileage due to the weight and larger diameter tires but it remained...
I`m pretty sure this is what he used,

There was someone here that removed their molding and replaced it with the thin chrome moldings off of a pickup. I think it was from an 05-06 chevy or gmc and it looked great. I`ll try to find a picture.
I am no expert on the matter but i would think that if the difference in tire size is great enough to activate the locker while traveling in a straight line it would put stress on not only the locker but on the axles as well.
As we know when the locker is activated both axles are locked...
New straps are a good thing to order when doing the job, I just replaced my fuel pump a few months ago and a month afterward i pulled out of work and heard a horrible noise from under my yukon. The rear strap broke while i was working and it was hitting the U joint. I climbed under and pulled it...
Do you know the difference in the diameter of the tires? If there is a minor difference about a half inch i wouldn`t worry but any bigger than that i wouldn`t do it. When i switched to 20 inch wheels i went to a junkyard and got a spare from a tahoe with 20 inch wheels. The spare is an 18 inch...
That truck looks very clean but i think they`re asking too much. I would be comfortable paying around $7500 tops because it`s 14 years old with over 100k.
I looked up RPO G86 and it comes up as
G86 Axle Rear, Limited Slip.
On a few of the sites i saw discussing this they said that G86 was used in quadrasteer equipped pickups and they never knew it was available in a tahoe or yukon. Maybe it was possible to order one with that option or someone...
I have an 05 yukon and i replaced the autoride with billstein 5100`s and kept the stock springs without a problem. The rear end will drop about an inch and that`s all you`ll notice about doing the swap. There are resistors that you can wire into the OE shock wires to shut the light off or pull...
