Testing a MAF.
Scan tool wouldn't help me much, as I don't know what kind of values I need to be looking for. I don't get any engine codes either. So your saying Autozone (usually) has a bench test setup for MAF sensors?- Mr45

Testing a MAF.
Is there any way to test a MAF? I have a sneaky suspicion mine is taking a crap. I've installed a K&N filter about 8 months ago, and now it's getting harder and harder to start. I've checked my fuel pressures and leakdown rate, and they seem fine. Is there a way to test this thing? Can a...- Mr45

What do you use your garage for?
My Tahoe sits in it when I'm home. It's also used for lawnmower and ammunition storage. I need to set up a small work bench, for my gunsmithing. If I need to work on my truck, I take it to work: A 24,000 sq.ft aircraft hangar with all my (normal) tools in it. -

Fuel filter change question.
When I take the filter off, (under driver side frame rail, by ABS comp.), will the tank just drain right out, or is there some kind of check valve in there? ('01 5.3 2wd)- Mr45

Where should my fuel pressures be?
Got a gauge here, want to hook it up to the fuel injector rail. What kind of pressure should I be seeing on ignition on, (3 second prime) and what should I be seeing at idle? ('01 5.3 2wd)- Mr45

Truck getting harder to start...wtf?
Filter it is. I'll do that tomorrow and update on my findings. I did notice though, if I turn the ignition on for a few seconds, and then start it, it seems to start up much better.- Mr45

OK, but would a screwy fuel pump not cause problems when running, accelerating, and general driving? Why only on start up? How hard is it to change out? Anybody do it themselves before?- Mr45

SO...I've removed the MAF sensor 3 days ago, and hosed it down with MAF cleaner. No dice, still long cranking time before it starts. It only seems to get worse over time. Is there a way I can test the MAF? to see if it's the problem? I'm not getting any codes.- Mr45
